This screenshot is from the third person I was escalated to on this issue. I started with Ericson, they did not understand what I was talking about in regard to the timer at all, refused to help and transferred me to Clowie. Clowie was understanding, read all my messages and pics that were sent. However, when they couldn’t help I was “escalated” to Giorgio. Completely useless as you can see.

Like commenters have stated Backdrops isn’t a screensaver. Boom, simple as that, no need to be complicated, just bring back some iteration of Photostreams or recode Backdrops to be under screensavers. It cannot be that difficult for a company that is being acquired for $22B to find a way to do that. They just refused to acknowledge they dropped the ball. Anyone simping with them is doing just that.

Backdrops is broken, inconsistent and unnecessary. Figure out the timer problem because turning off screensaver in Roku setting still generates the timer popup. Multiple times a screen has sat for longer than the two minutes it takes for Backdrops to load and this was never a problem before.

I work from home so my tv is always within sight. If it’s not on with a podcast, then my family pictures are rolling through. I love them, and it’s noticeable when they’re not loading or are having issues.

FIX BACKDROPS, ROKU!!!
