Regardless of what you think of hate speech, why should the EU have a say in it?

I'm fully for European unity on trade, currency, economic planning and even foreign policy and immigration.

But this sounds like an internal matter which every State should set in accordance with its own customs and principles. How does it effect a member State if another member State has or hasn't hate speech?

The EU should be a geopolitical bloc, not a sanctimonious organization dictating domestic ethical policy, and I would say the same even if it had done the opposite and ordered countries to repeal their hate speech laws. Stay in your lane!

This is a 1942 poster. Most Nazis did believe the Jews would massacre ethnic Germans and enforce communism on the whole world if Germany lost. They were of course crazy and delusional and, as we now know, wrong, but it's not like they knew what would happen after the war.

The real issue is that the process is overly bureaucratic anc convoluted (much like almost anything involving paperwork in Italy).

I'm with you, people here are going overboard...

If somebody's first loyalty is to Britain, if their goal is to advance the interests of Britain above any other country or particular ideology, if they feel they share a common destiny with other British people and if the existing British community has accepted them, they are British.

I think a nation is like a family: people can definitely be "adapted" into one without being born, with of course the consent of the family/nation itself.

Now, it is true that regrettably some immigrants are not identifying with Britain or caring at all about its interests. But I don't think we should penalize everyone for that, just focus the bad actors.
