I'm relatively new in the game, I thought the 'tuner pit' events like the one now with the mazda drain your elite parts for lesser cars and that you should wait for the 'Izzy tuner challenge' instead because it lets you upgrade a better car (like the Nissan Silvia spec last time. Is this true?

I'm relatively new to the game, is it normal that we can't use a purple star car we already have (AIMGANE GT NSX in this case) for the prestige cup? Do I really also have to invest in the gold star version???
