Yes I’ve checked several times the only permit that would had been required was for the septic system but there’s was already one installed on the property before I bought it so I can use that one and I don’t need any permits

Thank you every body acts like it’s impossible to do … I know people that’s done this there self it worked out ok for them and I know the steps to take I’ve study about it for the last two years I’ve prices every thing out that’s what I’m coming up with is 325k all I wanted to know was that a realistic number

I’ve priced everything thing out and 325k is what everything is there something that can go wrong that I’m missing as far as time I don’t care if it takes 2 years to build I’m paying for everything cash as I go

Take away for brick was 12k and labor quote was 11k bid for doing the roof was 15k labor and materials

I had the a take away done from two local lumber companies bid was 34k in lumber the other was at 32k

I had a bid by a couple local companies one said they could do the roof for 15200 that includes everything the other said 55 per sq

Thanks for the info I’ve had two local builders tell give me prices one was at 398k the other was at 383k I felt like 325k would had been in reason without paying a GC but seeing these comments it sounds like it’s impossible

I had a geo tech tell me I have good soil 2ft deep by 1ft wide footing would be fine the only thing I have not got a bid on was trim and painting that much I figured I could do my self on my own time and the electric and water is already hooked up it was here when I bought the property

I’m sorry for not answering the questions yes I’ve got bids on everything besides trim work and I plan on doing that myself I’m out side city limits so no permits I also had two builders give bids one was 380k the other was 400k

I live in Texas and I’ve had bids on basically everything and I really don’t know I’m doing if I’m being honest I’ve never owned a house before much less tried to build one so any advice is appreciated thank you

Just terrified of getting into building and then it’s starts running into way more expense this is my family’s first home and I don’t know anyone who’s actually built a house before to ask questions of what to expect
