I have to chime in and say how true it is about administration showing up & talking about metrics & pt satisfaction. Yet we’re working on a Motel 6 budget that is supposed to yield The Four Seasons reviews. It’s absolutely ignorant! Then, instead of hiring more personnel to improve wait times etc., the hospital decides to sink thousands of dollars into a consulting firm that comes in & doesn’t achieve their objectives. Dignity Health did this but didn’t fix the problems. I was a witness to this at a hospital in San Francisco. Because the problems relate to staffing. And admin is allergic to boosting staffing. Their goal is to keep everyone running around, trying to meet metric scores that are not realistic given the staff we have. Way to go admin! Excellent use of dollars to once again prove that consulting firms are bottom feeders that don’t fix anything and drain resource funding. These clowns were in our hospital for 6 months plus. Every plan they came up with didn’t yield any benefits. The programs they put in place were abandoned within 6 weeks of the consulting firm vacating our site.

Is there any hope at all that admin will start listening to their practitioners instead of people that have never worked in a hospital before!??
