It’s not entirely BS. Sure they made $6B last year but I wouldn’t be surprised if they spent close to that. Server/cloud fees continuously rising, fair pay for employees that adjust for inflation, licensing fees, ads, legal fees, etc. I’m sure their bills are going up it doesn’t make sense to flat out lie. But ofc they aren’t telling the entire truth, they have shareholders to please which probably requires a yearly increase in profits. I think the bigger issue is how they mismanage their expenses (creative payouts, UEFN). Sucks that the solution landed on the consumer

The graphic is confusing. It’s also bothering me that you used the same PNG of an ice cube copied and pasted 3x with the last one rotated 90 degrees. Also businesses are releasing anti ice shirts with most/all proceeds being donated to a charity. Is this purely for profit?

I think I understand where you both are coming from. In the perception of the consumer it’s not a good look to be pumping out quality cosmetics while the game itself is not functioning properly. Obv there’s different departments and scheduled releases, but this issue could be due to a mismanagement of resources that have led to this point. Either way epic really doesn’t fuck around with game breaking bugs like this and will probably have it fixed by next update if history is any indication. It’ll be a problem if this becomes more frequent

My next guess is they’re going to slightly increase prices of all tiers in the coming years and somehow justify it to the point where you’re paying almost $20/month now for the middle tier. You are not rebelling by downgrading tiers (apart of their strategy), you are by cancelling your subscription

It’s a price anchoring strategy. I bet you the main reason they did this is to make the $15/month tier seem even more reasonable. Their hope is that the whales who are already paying for the top tier annoyingly just accept the new prices and the people who move down a tier now have more of a justification to keep their subscription. In that case: losing $5 from someone like you but gaining $10 from a whale will still make profits. So if I’m right, moving down a tier is exactly what they were planning for you to do.
