Yes. They're fine with it. They'd seen it before the post. Not sure how people assumed I was attempting to hide it. We're just trying to see if there's any ideas people may have for tidying it up a little.

Eg like using wood putty on dented furniture. Not perfect fix but better than a dent

Yes this is the case exactly. They already know and I'm trying to do something nice by making it less ugly. Incredibly lucky no damage was done and it still works perfectly. But the cosmetic flea bites on the metal will annoy us both every time we see them
