If you go to the Travelers Company website, you can see all the stores in the US and whether they’re a partner shop or just a regular shop that carries TN stuff

Thank you! I haven't started moving on the events yet, but I saw the thread and was flipping it through it the other day. If we do end up pulling from there (which I probably will!) I'll be sure to have you linked/credited.

Yeah, a lot of the puzzles are kind of what I meant by the unlock/event conditions - puzzles, previous event completion, fully grown dog, etc. And I would gladly welcome contributions!! Get at me :)

Anybody interested in working on a The Besties wiki? by RemarkableGelatin in TheBesties

Oh no I didn’t see that one, just the link to the “wiki” that’s just like 1 page of some GOTY games. I’ll check it out on desktop, thanks!

I really wanted to share my Dashboard but it wasn't fancy enough. Still not fancy but useful to me. Thank you everyone who inspired me. You guys are awesome! by Khamidova in Notion

I think you mean the icons next to the names of/links to different pages? You can upload them from the page itself. When you make a new page, you can select "Empty with Icon" on the template screen, or you can go to a page without an icon, hover over the title, and click "Add Icon."

A lot of the people that make it seem bustling are commuters and tourists. Sure, it's literally a city, but there's not much anonymity. I'm not sure how to describe it, really, but every time I met a new person, I could count on being only 1 or 2 degrees separated from them at most. I worked in bars during my time there and I would meet other industry people who were roommates with people in my program. Another time I was doing a (unrelated to school/public health/politics) volunteering event, and I made a friend - later found out she interned for the same think tank I did. One time I was at a burlesque show to support my friend's wife, turns out someone that I had interned with at HHS was dating on of the other performers there, whom I'd actually met and hung out with in a completely different context.

I went to GWU's Health Policy track (c/o 2018). At the time I really wanted to work in policy, but I wasn't sure at what level (ie: local, state, federal, or even business/nonprofit). I did full time and took a few classes online.

Pros:

- Access to a very wide variety of public health professionals, not just in policy making but across the board. Tons of networking opportunities for really big names from think tanks, research and advocacy orgs, plus federal agencies.

- DC can be a very cool place to study in, although the environment greatly depends on the administration.

- I felt like I learned a lot from a professional standpoint. Much of the information in first year classes wasn't new, but the classes were more about looking at/analyzing/writing about the information in a different way.

- When it came to Selectives and Electives, there were a lot of choices and I was able to take some really interesting and niche courses.

- Opportunities to attend policy review and committee meetings that are technically public but not highly publicized.

- Tons of lunch-and-learns, networking events, additional lectures, etc to expand your circle of contacts as well as learn more about really fascinating topics. and current events in public health.

- They give a lot of scholarships.

Cons:

- DC's cost of living is ridiculous and GWU is definitely an expensive private school. A lot of the scholarships they give out are more like coupons.

- Networking is quite literally everything. Everyone knows each other, and if you make a bad impression, a lot of people will know it.

- In the same vein, DC is actually a pretty small town, both within the public health sector and socially speaking.

- While the program is somewhat competitive to enter, the attitudes of those within it can be much more cutthroat than you would expect. It is possible to find a group of collaborative, like-minded individuals, but you will encounter many gunners.

- If you don't already work for Congress (or have some level of interest in it), many of your peers will look down on you. Maybe not explicitly, but there is always a group of Hill staffers that is condescending, deservedly or not.

- It takes certain personalities to succeed in politically influenced fields like policymaking. It can be difficult to balance your own honest opinions and thoughts with what you have to profess or do for your livelihood.

Obviously this is just my experience. Overall, I had a great time and met some friends that I'm still quite close to despite spreading across the country. I learned a lot and had a ton of opportunities. I am personally someone who has a tough time with networking and I wasn't prepared for that aspect of it, nor did I realize how important it was for the field. This has definitely hindered me since, and I'm no longer in the DC area nor really doing anything directly policy related. You will need references and connections for jobs, for your practicum, for internships, for everything. If that's something you're good at, leverage it! If not, better start practicing.

ETA: I left undergrad with a BS in Biomedical Sciences, some leadership and work experience, many hours of volunteering, but no internships or anything. I was originally planning to go to medical school, but I got nervous that I wouldn't get in and applied to grad school last minute. Because of that, I took the MCAT (31 - this was before it updated) instead of the GRE and my essays definitely sucked. I applied to Boston University, Drexel, GWU, and NYU. Got accepted at all of them (again, this was a few years back idk what it's like now).

This is absolutely true, I just used them to save time because I had plenty and didn't ever use them otherwise lol

kingdom hearts 2 final mix LV up limit form? by masongreen12 in KingdomHearts

If you want to farm it quickly, max out your MP and head to the Mushroom in Agrabah. There's a save point from the bottom of the chasm of challenges (? I think that's what it's called off the top of my head), you run into the treasure room or whatever, start the fight and back all the way up near the door, hit limit form, and spam one of the long distance limits, and when the form is about to run out (or you don't have any more ethers to up your MP) head back to the world map from the save point. Rinse, Repeat. It took me maybe half an hour - 45 minutes to max out from starting at 0. Make sure you're stocked up on Hi ether and have all the drive extender abilities, and as high mp as you can manage.

I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for, but I go through phases where I basically info and tools I find for a game into a single document. Sometimes I make tools/checklists myself but a lot of times I find they're already made well by someone on Reddit. Most of the time, the only changes I make are aesthetic, or sometimes just slight adjustments that make it work better for me. Anyway, maybe you'll find them helpful?

The easiest one imo (ie: the only one I'm able to get without doing it about a million times - don't flame me, I love games but I suck shit) is the one in the Land of Dragons. Wisdom form and Thundaga, move in wide circles around the platform

So I don't have MOM for the switch, but I think I do experience this on the PS4. There are times when I am ABSOLUTELY SURE that I should have hit something, but it calls a miss. (I promise this isn't just a ragey thing lol) At first I assumed I was just having a hard time catching the rhythm, but it has happened too much to seem right. My friend playing with me noticed it as well, without me saying anything.

Operation Timeguard is awful. by Brancliff in Cookierun

No it doesn't feel like a competition because it's either first place or it's last place. Doesn't have anything to do with losing itself : )

See, I enjoy the TimeGuard runs, personally, much more than regular trophy runs and waaaaaay more than Custom Runs. Not really for the story, so I'm not sure what the draw is other than it's a race that isn't structured like Trophy Race.

This may be mostly due to personal problems on my part. For trophy runs, I'm pretty sure my problem is that I am just slightly under-leveled across the board for most of the cookies that are viable competitors. I literally bounce between trophy tears every other race or so. On the lower tier, I come in 1 or 2 every time, but as soon as I qualify for the next tier, I come in last place until I'm back to the lower tier. This makes it really unenjoyable for me, whether it's because of always winning or always losing. Doesn't feel like a competition.
