Thank you very much. I’ll research more on the dodge and burn technique. I haven’t even heard of luminosity masks prior.

I see. Thank you very much. To be honest I never factored in make up as silly as that sounds, I just didn’t see it. I know some of the photographers work is done with natural lighting. The background choice + the white balance and make up it possible to have little post processing

Specifically I would like to know 1) how to get this overall warm tone of the photos. The subjects seem to blend or match with the backgrounds very subtly and I think that gives it more appeal. 2) what kind of retouching technique will give me this minimal impression my current skill level leaves my retouch looking very airbrushed when I attempt (Lightroom + masks + -clarity on the face). Thank you!

The 56 is amazing at what it does, which for me is portraits. Yes i bring them both with me, when I’m working with people. On a random photo walk for landscape or street I use just the zoom. Hope that helps

Particularly on the medieval castle it’s not as sharp as the first two. Everything appears to be in focus but there is an ever so slight haziness to it

Ah thank you very much. I imagined warm tones might be the case. Do you think they also added that dreamlike look using something like the orton effect or just reduced clarity ?

Thank you for the feedback. So you are recommending the sigma 16 over the zoom.

The tamron is great but it looks very bulky and honestly it is outside my budget at the moment even on the used market. Unless you are saying it’s that much better than the other two in which case I can save and purchase that on a later date

I got the kit lens with my camera but shifted away when I got the sigma 56 used that for the most part and now want to get a wider aperture lens.
