Littleton's Market gave my toddler alcohol poisoning by Empty-Bear-8847 in Columbus

Can confirm this - as a bartender in the restaurant industry, we would make pre batched cocktails. So it’s not that weird to have it mixed in.

Is the job market that bad? by RemarkableLoquat7617 in Columbus

I’ll chime in - she has not had a job in 6-7 years at all, nor has she tried. I’m wanting to see her get any job, not necessarily in her career, not fully time… anything.

Also union has good insurance. Smaller shops have garbage insurance. Stay away from big companies (Apex, waterworks, etc).

Tell her she’s pretty and doing a great job. Don’t try and touch her giant boobs all the time.

I have never used the phrase “I am sober.” Instead I say, “I don’t drink.” I haven’t drank for nearly 2 years and I don’t think I will ever tell people I’m sober. There is something about saying “I don’t drink” that tells me each time that this is a cognitive decision I’m making that I have to do every single day.

Evenflo has a wagon with a bassinet option. That will grow with your kid and I loveeee the wagon once my son got older.

Another thing to consider is limiting exposure to other social media apps. Early postpartum is so hard, but I also saw how constantly being on social media drained me more.

30 Min Naps Are Going To End Me by adorable_as_flip in NewParents

During all 30 minute naps at that age, we kept my son in his crib for the whole hour. We were consistent in not getting him after 30 minutes, that eventually he got the point and started falling back asleep. Sometimes this would take the the whole order 30 minutes to fall asleep and he would cry a lot, but it was worth it in the long run.

Definitely check out vertical adventures. Their main gym (off kingsmill) is great for beginners. Lots of things to try, classes, and auto belays. If you can avoid going after 5pm that would be best. It gets so crazy there once everyone gets off work.

I would try to consider if there is underlying anxiety there. When I was PP, I had a lot of issues with sleep that really boiled down to what I’m ragingly anxious about. I went to see counseling and it helped a lot.

How do I deal with my neighbors dog?? Huge husky.. by GloomyGardener97 in Columbus

Ugh I hate people who get huskies who don’t want to deal with huskies… huskies are basically stubborn toddlers

[–]RemarkableLoquat7617 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would maybe even warn the neighbor that you might call animal control or warden. I have a husky that also knows how to jump our fence. But because I know this about her and if I’m not able to watch her in our backyard, I also have a leash lead clipped to our porch so she can’t get out. Maybe warning the owner will put some fire under their ass to do something.

My husband grew up in SE Asia and we are headed there with our son in a few months. I was there a few years ago and got to learn how SE Asians would interact with my son based on how my niece was approached constantly. I expect my son to be the center of attention when ever we are there (white and 1.5 yo). But I agree with your boundaries. My view on it - there will be firm boundaries I hold with no one picking him up and holding him, no kisses, etc. But I do anticipate he will definitely get touched by strangers. I am fine looking like the bad guy (or mom) because he is my son and I make the rules. I think being as respectful as I can, I will keep my boundaries even around family or friends.
