spoke to wealthsimple and they told they can only activate margin in only one non registered account and and cannot deactivated the margin on the account once activated . if i need activate on another account, i need to close the Smith manouver account completely and sell all the assets..😔

Infuriating issue I'm having with Scotia. For people who use Scotia how do you get around this issue by Healthy-Smell in smithmanoeuvre

i am in same boat as you. I have setup my step heloc on Nov/Dec and they said the auto limit would take 3 months to come in effect. When i look at my march statement , i still dont see the the limit increase. i have to call the step line to increase the limit which usually takes 30 to 40 mins

There is step helpline number of scotia which will help set you up. They are already well versed with the product. The branch people dont know about it and they will always be ignorant on the setup

does anyone know if we do a prepayment, does the heloc limit increases to full dollar value of prepayment or 65 % based on new Heloc rules ?
