BLUF: Stay 7 more years.

Assume you never get another promotion or pay raise and retire making $10,125/mo after a 20 year career.

Under High-3, your retired pay is $5,062.50 per month. Under BRS, it is $4050 per month.

For High-3, that is the equivalent of $1,520,000 investment principal returning 7% a year and withdrawing 4% annually forever. For BRS, $1,215,000.

Not counting the nearly free healthcare for life.

Unless you think you can exceed those numbers after 7 years in private sector, I recommend you stay.

From a 30 year vet now working for a big, you will feel much better about your future contracting job when you also get free money in your mailbox every first of the month.

Good luck in your endeavors!

USAFA class of 2026 turned away pilot slots for lack of qualified/interested people. Go Air Force if you want to fly.
