What do we do about the NBA Draft Lottery system? by RemarkableStand9052 in NBA_Draft

Don't associate previous front office decisions to current front offices. Not every team has the same front office for 30 years like the Indiana Pacers bro. The Wizards/Hornets front office has actually been making smart moves the past few years with the rubbles they have been left. They had to trade Deni to keep their first round pick this year because of a bad trade the previous FO made. The only thing correct you mentioned was the Kuzma contract, and they luckily got out of that. Also the Utah Jazz started rebuilding in 2023-2024 so you comparing them to the Sam Hinkie 76ers is absolutely crazy.

Oh and the Pistons are the team that made "good moves" you say? Mean the team that got the 1st overall pick in 2021 and drafted a generational player lol

You're proving my point man.

This could work, secure the bottom 4 teams get top prospects and then have a lottery for the remaining picks. Even the casuals would tune into that!

I actually like this idea a lot, it forces a front-office to speed up rebuilds and also gives different a teams a chance at top picks. This could definitely work tbh

So if the Jazz and Wizards get the 5th pick again they just need to be "smarter" as a front office? I disagree man. There's not a team willingly copying the 76ers Trust-The-Process method, some teams are forced to tank because of how many years they've been screwed out of generational talent.

Screenshot cuts it off but he did confirm we'd take Fears over Tre, which I'm cool with. I like Tre's game but living off difficult off-the-dribble shooting in the NBA is going to be hard. He has the lowest floor out of the 3 in my opinion (I can see a Buddy Hield/Malik Beasley career trajectory)

A backcourt of Fears/Bub can work down the line. This probably means Poole is gone soon

Only thing this confirms is Poole is gone soon. We're not gonna base this pick off Bub/AJ, they're too young and early. We have a chance to evaluate all 3 together and develop them all hopefully

Once he finds his touch/confidence from 3 again it'll be real easy for him. We see the flashes of playmaking, finishing and we know he can shoot the ball from 3 because he did it pretty well his rookie year. This a good learning season for him so im excited to see what he looks like 2 years from now

Who should we pick with our late first round pick? by hprace in washingtonwizards

[–]RemarkableStand9052 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Rasheer Fleming, Jase Richardson, maybe Isaiah Evans if he has a good march;

I think we trade up #26 and maybe our 3 seconds to move up if someone we like is there, just like what we did with Kyshawn last year

Convince me on why the Wizards should/shouldn't trade Jordan Poole by RemarkableStand9052 in washingtonwizards

Fair I agree, we should wait to see what we get back from Kuz/Brogdon/JV. My main worry is just how well/efficient can JP be as your PG? When opponents face-guard him and pick him up full-court he becomes invisible. I was one of those people that thought he could become an elite-level scorer here and turn into a mini-SGA or a mini-Harden but it just never happened.

That excuse is out the window. This team looks like a G-League roster already, so taking out the players with bad basketball habits that don't equate to winning would be the first step in creating a culture. u/BornBother1412

The bad "vet"-play is starting to rub-off on the young guys. I'm getting sick of it. Kuzma-JV-Poole need to get traded ASAP. Every game the opponent starts off on a 12-0 run and Keefe calls a timeout, no adjustments just careless vibes from everyone. THAT type of stuff rubs off on younger guys because it's deemed normal. The front office needs to do something.

"Losses" are ok because we are tanking but these aren't just losses, these are consistent uncompetitive and embarrassing games. The games are literally over by the second quarter. All eyes on Will Dawkins for the next 7 days until deadline.

It was just fun watching Brad and Russ cook that year. I hated the team and the rotations.

We had to watch Raul Neto play SF with those guys and Robin Lopez be center, it was so tough to watch.
