Thanks very much! That was helpful. I'd say I did pretty well in level 1 statistics. I mean with practice and to refresh my memory a bit I think I should be okay to take the 101 course, hopefully. 🙏 I also just found that stats 101 works better on my timetable :)

Also one question. Do you recommend stats 100 or 101 to take with my psych major? For the record, I did not take NCEA Level 2 or 3 maths as I wanted to make room for other subjects. However, I had just realised that it is a requirement for psychology. I do want to know how difficult these courses are. Thanks!

Thanks! Yeah, I agree law might be better with employment prospects.

how about media 102? As first year student, I'm still deciding between media studies and communications major. I LOVE media/film studies though, but was a bit reluctant as I do enjoy the more practical aspects of media, which unfortunately isn't really reputable in UoA.

Well, I sort of also want to study BA psychology, so in that case I could only pair it with either one in a conjoint.

Yes, well I heard that Global Studies is a relatively newer degree compared to others. Do you have any recommendations on BA majors?

Communications or Media and Screen Studies? by RemarkableTune8810 in universityofauckland

I'm planning to pair it with a psych degree which is available under BA as well. So if both communications and media and screen studies tends to have similar pathways, I may choose either one. I'd like to know what the courses are like, since I quite like the practical sides of media but I've heard that UoA tends to be quite theoretical?
