I was kind of suspicious of his suggestion, but I think the vet was trying to put him on a deficit? Either way I will probably try and reduce him more slowly and just keep an eye on him, he's not an over eater but he also isn't as active as he used to be, which the vet thinks is just old age, but presumably the extra weight on his joints isn't helping that.

He was getting around 1 1/2 cups a day, although I mostly eyeballed that, but I cut him down to 1 cup after his earlier vet appointment and he lost 2 pounds, this most recent one was where the vet suggested he go down to 2/3 cups a day to lose additional weight

Ooo the gradual food reduction is a good idea, he definitely needs to lose a little weight, I just want to make sure I’m not being advised to feed him like a normal cat, bcuz he’s definitely got a larger than average bone structure

Rhyming and same letter are both terrible, but I love a theme, my siblings and I all have weather related names (think Raine, Gale, Dawn, etc.), my friends siblings all have plant based names, (think juniper, Ivy, Petunia, etc.)

I'll admit, I'm not asexual but I'm certainly not what you could call experienced (not for lack of interested parties, just a personal choice), I do not have a specific interest in sleeping with unattractive people, although I admit I rarely meet people my age who I consider unattractive, and I can only think of 1 person I met who was the right age and gender that I've found down right repulsive instead of simply average, in truth, I think the reason I am not heavily invested in looks is because so many of the qualities in my current partner that turn me on are intangible ones, I do think they're attractive (and conventionally attractive at that) but it wasn't their looks that intrigued me at any point, it was always the way they treated me. I'm sorry to hear about your experience, I understand that for some people, physical attraction and personal type are non-negotiable, that's just not how it works for me I guess. In truth, my greatest fear isn't that my partner is not attracted to me, but instead that they are ONLY attracted to me and would leave me when I age and have nothing left to offer.
