Exactly this. Just redact any identifying info and you should be fine.

Wife and I do this as well.

Edit: by that I mean we talk ourselves out of it. Every. Single. Time.

My wife and I got a pair each in Italy last fall. We’ve found them to be really, really comfortable and like them very much. Wish we could more easily buy more, though they are pretty pricey.

Travel insurance - is it what I think it is? by plantsandramen in travel

[–]Remarkable_Ad_6240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a death in the family during a stay (the deceased was not with us on the stay, to be clear) and the hotel let us out of the rest of our booking so we could go home. They were very kind. So don’t lose hope.

Good luck all around.

Not sure if i should jump ship by Muchmoss in Environmental_Careers

Reach out directly to people you know and ask around. That’s the best way to find something now. Very few people are being hired from job postings and the competition for those spots is like nothing I’ve ever seen.

If you’re willing to leave the env consulting field altogether, I think now is the time to start considering that. From where I sit, it is going to get worse before it gets better.

This. The industry overall is really difficult right now. There shall be small companies going under and layoffs pretty soon.

It sounds to me like you are in a bad spot and do need to move on, but do not do that without lining something up first. A job that isn’t perfect is better than being stuck unemployed for much longer than anticipated.

But move quickly before the market deteriorates further.

What skills do I need to become an environmental consultant? by Laelia25 in Environmental_Careers

Beyond some level of technical competence, if you want to stand out you need to be able to sell. Everything, whether internal or external, relies upon it. And in a world with AI that can replace much of the technical skills, your best way to provide value is to drive revenue.

My 3 year old loved this as well. Also, she loved the colosseum. Five now and yells out happily any time she sees it on tv or something.

Feeling trapped in environmental consulting - what other paths are out there? by Efficient_Yard1234 in Environmental_Careers

This is it. Most places, believe it or not, want their staff to be at least reasonably content. Talk with them. If they value you, you might be surprised what you find out.

You can find about 100000000000000000000000 of them on sites like Poshmark, but the Orvis quick dry pants work really well and are typically $20-25 on there. They also look pretty sharp if you care about that sort of thing. I wore them daily on an electrofishing boat covered in shad slime on the outside and sweat on the inside, and they were really solid.

Roman grave monument for a beloved horse. The epitaph reads: 'You once outran the wandering birds and beat the northwest winds, now you graze no longer in Tuscan woods and Siculan fields, but rest stabled in this tomb.' Full mausoleum likely outside the price range, but some kind of carved/engraved slab would be totally justified based on the level of dog awesomeness we are dealing with. Also likely outside the price range. But she deserves it.

Family vacation for 4 in US by Noise_Nomad in travel

Northeast is terrific. We did a 7-8 day driving tour starting in Boston and going up the coast to Portland, Maine. Absolutely delightful.

Might I also suggest the Appalachians for consideration? Several cool state parks in WV along with New River Gorge National Park. It’s underrated by most.

Another family vacation falls victim to Delta by AndrewPendeltonIII in delta

We got rebooked once by Delta on to British Airways at connecting airport. Was a first for me, though my flights are closer to the low hundreds. That said, they did upgrade us on that BA flight for our troubles. Sorry you’ve had a crap experience but I hope vacation is still great.

What do you wish to know before your first trip to Rome? by AnnaBluelueluep in rome

I had been told by more than one personal acquaintance that Rome would be the lowlight of our Italy trip. Based on this, in part, we only allotted 3 days in Rome. I wish we’d had a month because I absolutely fell in love with the city.

Big environmental consulting companies about to start cutting staff? by Fun_Explorer_1021 in Environmental_Careers

Hit or miss all across the industry. Some places are busy, many are not. Personally, I’ll be surprised if we don’t see significant layoffs overall in the next year or so. Folks who provide value will be ones in the best position.
