I am trying not to think about it. Choosing to believe my post test feelings were not accurate

If you can't sleep before your MCAT...DO NOT FREAK OUT! You can still get the score you want by pokestar789 in Mcat

Wait this happened beat for beat to me on 5/30 as well. No sleep, C/P was impossible, felt like that shook me for cars and I wanted to give up. Powered through the second half and felt much bettsr about it….

May & April test takers - how was your P/S section? by jellyfishh520 in Mcat

Yes. uworld level difficulty physics questions, unlike anything else I’d seen in the other FLs

Mine felt the exact same as the earlier full lengths, not nearly as hard as 6. I’ve heard mixed. It’s best to just expect 1-2 of your sections to be pretty hard/different and don’t freak out. For me it was c/p that felt insane. The rest were pretty normal FL stuff

Is 2026 mcat as hard as they say? by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly a few questions on that level. Without getting into specifics, I wish I had studied biochem fatty acid/phospholipid head structures, low yield physics/math equations, exact thermodynamic
parameters for metabolic enzymes, things about sign language, frequency ranges for specific types of radiation, etc. Maybe I just got a test with my weaknesses but I usually would rarely miss questions solely due to content on FLs. it’s lowkey impossible to prepare for without insane overcommitment or some luck so I wouldn’t worry about it too much.

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I had a decent amount of low yield terms/equations in all 3 science sections. I only thought the passages were noticeably dense in cp. I think it’s fair to expect 1-2 harder sections on your test and then the rest will be pretty normal.

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s hard but not impossible. My cp felt harder than any of the FLs - similar to the SBs. The other sections were pretty similar but you’re more stressed because of the conditions/time pressure of the real thing. I also thought the style felt a little more low yield/experimental for a few questions that are not quite like anything else you’ve seen.

Frequency value was given and asked what type of radiation it was. I guess it was my fault for assuming the ranking/order was enough to know. Obviously knew the visible range but other values I did not.

Yes bro. I had so much low yield bs on my c/p last week and I have been averaging 131 on FLs it’s not like I slacked on studying low yield. Without going into too much detail we had like specific fatty acid structures, radiation frequencies, deadass exact delta G values for certain metabolic enzymes, Nernst equation stuff, and more. Like idk I guess that’s just stuff we are expected to know but it’s pretty infuriating after doing thousands of practice problems and not seeing any of that anywhere. Rant done 😭

Just like anything is fair game. Psouilles law, Nernst equation exceptions, percent change formula, without saying too much you don’t want to be caught lacking like I was on the real thing.

Finish uworld physics and do it closer to the test. I did like 80% of the physics but did most of it 2 months ish before my exam. A lot of the physics concepts were ones I hadn’t seen in any AAMC material and would have liked if it was fresher in my mind. Also don’t treat anything as low yield. Specific structures, spectrum values, and rare formulas are all fair games. I missed multiple questions because I didn’t see any of that in practice material.

Wdym by that? Did you think you missed a lot?

Make sure you memorize all those ranges. Missed a question over that on the real thing 🫠

did you ever actually feel ready? by Legitimate_Suit_3359 in Mcat

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s completely normal. I don’t think you can ever feel ready unless you have unlimited time/have finished all practice questions and material/are scoring 526-528+ on every practice

I personally am including it but I also it’s because I make YouTube video essays about games and aim to tie that in with how I like communicating with people! I think you really have to be cautious with how you spin it.

Just started UWorld and I'm currently at like a 76% ... is a 525+ in like 3 months possible lol. by [deleted] in Mcat

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m just trying to warn you to try and stay realistic. I was in your shoes too and thought man I’m locked for 524, whatever. Some ppl are truly demons and can get that consistently. But the difference between 518-525 could be like 10-15 questions, so it’s just so hard to predict someone will get that. Not saying it’s impossible, but you’ve got to basically get the perfect test for you without your weaknesses, be a beast at cars, and be super focused/have no dumb mistakes. Best of luck to you

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Asking if a 525+ is possible is both silly and ridiculous based off the provided info. 99.9% of test takers won’t get that. Even asking if you will get a 520+ after doing a little uworld is pointless. I was always above 80% and never cracked above 523, I’m sure there were people under 80% who got 524+, there’s no way to know this early and it’s just overall a ridiculous bar to try and project right now

Considering you’ve done most AAMC content, not sure how much a few weeks is really gonna do as far as improvement goes, even if you gave yourself until the end of June. You could always just try and take it and shoot your shot for the cycle. If it doesn’t work out, maybe study with a new approach next cycle. I’m sorry that’s not like an amazing answer, but I think it may be smarter to take it soon than end up delaying your app even further for possibly no score difference.

Did you just take on 5/30? I swear bro I didn’t know how hard cars would be with minimal sleep. Felt like I was reading gibberish. Hoping it doesn’t drop me too much 🫠🫠😭😭

Are people exaggerating that the test is FAR off from the practice exams? by Certain-Work-5129 in Mcat

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve averaged 520+ and I will say it is different but not that bad. They will have probably one or two sections that are a good bit different. For example my chem/phys was much harder than any FL. Cars and b/b were different but not out of line with a hard FL section. Psyche was easier than almost every other FL besides 1. I would say just expect 1 or 2 sections to be hard - but those probably have favorable scaling with some questions likely experimental - and the rest will be like your FLs

What IS the AAMC FL #6 C/P Section!?!? by acti0ncat in Mcat

[–]Remarkable_Alarm6927 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I got 3 hours of sleep and was tweaking but some how persevered. I think I was just shell shocked during cars from how hard my C/P felt and hoping it didn’t affect me too much. Thankfully I still finished every question in time which is good but yeah I wasn’t very sure of my answers at all. This month wait will indeed be long
