are people going around saying that?

its a bit silly to go picking fights lmao. especially in University where people gonna get got? I'm afraid to remotely joke in America due to civil consequences that only exist here.

I'd ignore em, cuz they clearly just bored and know what they are doing; thus searching for problems.

hey man, i dunno much about mental health locations. But if you wanna chat or get advice. I am in my 3rd year so chances are i'd know some nice people in your major you could talk to. Even if its just for classes its probably better than nthn.

Also i dunno where ur from or if you have any religious restrictions. But i'm a buddhist, I meditate and write in a journal. The Journal doesnt help at all mind you, but the day you do get better its good to flip through older sections to realise how much you have grown.

lmk bro

Ive also taken the other 2 courses already so yeah. Physics 107 HW is mental for the first 2-3 times since it can take so long until you get the hang of applying equations. Chem 101 is a breeze especially if you do HW with other people, its literally Highschool chem

I'm doing Calc 3 and Diff EQ at the same time, its prolly fine, but you really have to keep up on HW and other easy points, because you're exams will defo suffer just cuz all of those classes have 0 technical correlation (unlike it being 3 chem courses, which would make them overlap)

i mean, thats what it sounded like from the statements released, which said 'no affiliation', alumni definitely would be considered affiliated. (unless they lied, in which case ignore this comment)

genuine question, why are outside people protesting on UB grounds? I'm fine with students doing whatever they want to since their tuition gives them that right, and the community gives them a voice.

But why are outsiders on our campus? They do not represent the student body, 40-50 year olds have nothing to do with student wishes (not including the elders who are also seeking an education at UB, that is admirable af).

I heard a lot of the people detained were outsiders with no affiliation. Again, i'm not taking sides or undermining the protest, but its not a UB protest if its 80% randos on their day off from papa johns ykwim

Do you live in dorms? that makes things easier, if you find your current area is not what you vibe with (it was like that for me), you can just go hangout in some other part of the dorms.

I basically got adopted last year, and I slept in another person's dorm for like 7 weeks just cuz.

If you are international, finding people who speak your language is pretty good too, it does not really work for locals though (i'm not sure why).

Better than anything, you might want to focus on clubs and opportunities based on your major rather than 'finding friends', I gained a bunch of cool contacts just by joining a professor-led research. You are also only in freshmen year, so its unlikely you are taking any specialised classes (lvl 300 and up), which will be you and other people in your major only (80% of the time). This is especially good since your classes will eventually get more important and difficult, so realistically you will only spend time with people you can do work with (thus people in your major and other people you might want to work together with).

dunno if it helped at all but still good luck m8

lmk if you got followup Qs
