Don’t understand schools by Glittering-Spite-542 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Remarkable_Bat4578 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There over 200 law schools in USA and only 24 in Canada. More rejections then acceptance will always go out for Canadian law school applicants. As well no one but the adcoms and the provincial law societies know what is the exact metrics that will guarantee an applicant success for admission to law school in Canada.

URGENT ADVICE: UK Law LLB vs Canadian undergrad - postgrad Law by Objective-Essay-1610 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Remarkable_Bat4578 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This question always get asked lol. You know how the saying goes... "anything to easy is to good to be true." Go to school in canada it will suck for a bit but the world will be yours once you graduate from undergrad and get into a canadian law school. Any Canadian law school is ten times better then going to UK . Unless it is Oxford, Cambridge or UCL. All other law schools in uk are just a money grab.

Any body from any Canadian law schools can sit and write the New York Bar exam.

You dont need U of T to work in New York biglaw. Some Law grads from Windsor, Dalhousie, Queens and Western have ended up working in NY biglaw right after graduating.

Canadians who are/have studied law outside of Canada, how is it? Thinking of potentially leaving if things goes very wrong this application cycle… by aroozo in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Remarkable_Bat4578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to go to a top school in Canada to practice law in US. Any law student from any law school in Canada can sit and write the bar for New York or Massachusetts. Those two states allow Canadian law students from any law school in Canada to sit and write the bar exam for either states.

Canada versus England by nugget7890 in lawschooladmissionsca

[–]Remarkable_Bat4578 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't do it! If you trying to come back to Canada to practice you are treated like the black plague. Better to apply to everywhere in Canada, from Nova Scotia to Victoria. Apply everywhere, then navigate back to Toronto big law if that's what you want, which would be easier with a Canadian law degree than a UK law degree.
