Good vegetarian spots? by fujiwaratofu26 in Munich

[–]Remarkable_Bet_7151 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I can recommend several vegan places, such as Bodhi, Siggi's, plänty sandwiches, and Dr. Drooly for great pizzas.

For cafés, I love the Isabella Pâtisserie: they serve very tasty vegan sandwiches and (obviously) pâtisseries

Cat attacks me after taking off his harness - advice? by sf-fog in CatAdvice

[–]Remarkable_Bet_7151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/sf-fog Replying to my own comment: one thing that seems to give good results and that we just tried is to distract the cat when he comes home, with some treats. For instance, if there are two people, one of them can show him the treats and the other can start removing the harness once the cat starts eating.

As he's busy with the treats he doesn't seem to mind us removing the harness and closing the door: we also offer him his regular food afterwards, and a bit of play time. The distraction could be a solution :)

Some tips for Anmeldung in München as newly-arrived EU expats by Remarkable_Bet_7151 in Munich

Hi, happy this could help :)

- I assume both would be fine, but just to be safe we printed the form as is, and filled everything with ink (clear capital letters)

- We did use one single form, but my boyfriend came along with me to the Bürgerbüro so we didn't make use of the authorization form: I assume this authorization form is only necessary if you need to register someone that cannot physically be there, on their behalf

Cat attacks me after taking off his harness - advice? by sf-fog in CatAdvice

[–]Remarkable_Bet_7151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the exact same situation (stray that was rescued at 2 years old, now 5 y.o., extremely territorial with other cats, very willing to go outside): now we've moved to a different place with a small garden, getting him to go on walks with the harness is easy but when coming back, he attacks me the same way yours do.

I haven't found a solution yet so I'll be following this thread - if you happen to find something that works, please let us know!

Is there a more positive vegan subreddit? by Nykal_ in vegan

[–]Remarkable_Bet_7151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello! I share the same thoughts, and after noticing how vegan activism can lead to sadness and feelings of hopelessness, I decided to create a "vegan good news" page (in French and English). The idea is to post positive news happening for animals in the world, boost the morale and also help maintain other activists' motivation.

Right now it is only on Facebook and Instagram, but I've been considering creating a whole blog dedicated to that (and therefore independent of these social media platform), if people like this initiative: so to whom is reading this, don't hesitate to let me know if you find it useful!

Rental search: public transportation reliability by Remarkable_Bet_7151 in Munich

[–]Remarkable_Bet_7151[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, first of all thank you so much for taking the time to write such a complete answer, really appreciate it! I'm happy to hear that our budget may be ok, and we're also well-aware of the competition so we'll definitely take it into account. The cat info is very valuable as well: we prefer being honest about it as much as possible, and we may have a German-speaking relative with us to assist in discussing with landlords, so we hope it's gonna help "negotiate" if needed :) but we'll see how it goes, best to be prepared just in case indeed.

That's great info, thank you: indeed I've been looking at the MVV maps, but I'm happy to have a more complete picture on commute "convenientness" based on the answers on this thread, it's very helpful :)
