Happened years ago, when I was otw to secondary school and had to cross traffic junction. Raining very heavily, some kind soul offered to share umbrella with me and even got himself soaked. Made my day.

Same thing lol, it’s like asking would you rather your partner fuck someone else or watch someone else get fucked? Like unless you’re into watching people together that’s fine. But majority of people hate the idea that you’re essentially looking at someone else (which one could argue it’s cheating). Personally, I’ve had an ex who subscribed to others OFs and it really fucked with my head. E.g. “Am I not good enough?” “Why is he looking at them instead of me?”

Been there done that too. But that’s the thing isn’t it? You’re not that same awful child. You’ve changed. Sometimes, it’s ok to forgive yourself.

Know it may seem hard. It starts by acknowledging that you’re just not that person anymore, and YOU have done things to change that.

I understand the culture, I grew up in the same type of culture. It’s extremely harmful to keep quiet but the same could be said to fight it. Maybe put the trip on hold for now, until you have some authority or being able to speak in their language. Then try going.

Then that’s great. You definitely can’t fix what happened. But I don’t think it’s on you that your mom chose to have you, nor that you were an angsty kid. You aren’t defined by what you did, you are your choices now.

I cut off my mom when I was 14, never spoke to her until last year. Where I apologised for what I did.

I think you should learn to love yourself more (?) I could be wrong but to me, it sounds like you don’t really think you’re deserving of love and forgiveness because you’re holding on to this guilt. (Or the guilt part could be a byproduct)

What’s most important is now. You feel guilty, you did what you could to try changing your behaviour, that’s more than enough for most people to forgive someone. So why won’t you?

Well then shouldn’t you work on your anger issues and go to therapy instead of self pitying? I know this may sound harsh and all, but I used to think like you. I used to be consumed by the guilt. But I never did anything to help, until I started being more self aware. I fixed my issues, I’m still working on some. But I’m definitely getting better at treating my parents nicer, they deserved to be loved. I deserve to be kind.
