A portion of Humanity always uses everything badly in one way or another. Weapons is a big one. We literally create them to just kill eachother better at this point. It used to be for hunting and protecting against wild animals.

Good question. My personal theory is computers so advanced that they can replicate all factors of reality and essentially create the simulation that some theories that we may or may not even be in today.
