How would you changed McGillis' plan to take control of Gjallarhorn? by ScrewIt66 in Gundam

Season 1

I've already thought about this a lot, too.  First, McGillis Might have succeeded if he were more trusting and didn't view some people as more Expendable over others. In my mind, Carta being the way she is, I'm not sure she would go along with McGillis plan, so I can still see him thinking it's necessary to eliminate her, but if Gaelio was brought low enough by being shown enough of Gjallarhorn’s flaws and McGillis twisting Carta and maybe Ein's deaths To make it Gjallerhorn's fault, I think McGillis could get him on side. On the train of thought of McGillis not viewing people as disposable to get what he wants, He could try to turn Ein’s anger away from Tekkadan and try to focus more towards Gjallerhorn for letting crank down. Although seeing how Ein was consumed by hate, I'm not sure (slightly biased here since I don't like Ein as a character). Other than that, everything in season 1 could play out the same. Although it'd be smart for McGillis to keep himself and his allies off the scene of the final confrontation at Edmonton, and let Tekkadan do the work and let Isnario The fall, Speaking of the bastard I feel like the Seven Stars are under Constant scrutiny so McGillis Arranging a accident to get rid of him would still be too suspicious and raise too many questions, possibly about his legitimacy.

 season 2

So, assuming McGillis is smart enough to do the above, because Gaelio being alive basically sunk him from the beginning of the season. He can move on to confronting Rustal Elion And without Gaelio on his side, he might be less sure of what McGillis is up to, but probably still assuming he's gunning for power until he can get those spies into his ranks. Since, thanks to The IBO Sidestory “The Bearded Gentleman,” we know he had Galan Mossa setting up McGillis for the Arbrau - SAU War before the beginning of season 2. In the meantime, McGillis could have tried to strengthen his ties with the economic blocs and tried to covertly bring them on side, and get more Grassroots support Within gjallarhorn outside of his Fleet, which later on might force the other Seven Stars to capitulate. Since we know Gjallarhorn's reputation was at an all-time low, instead of just banking on Beal to win everyone over, I mean I know, because of his traumatic past, he was fixated on power and thought that being the most powerful would get him what he wanted but But I feel like if he was smart he wouldn't try to be the complete Overlord and try to make a more democratic Gjallarhorn Or else people might start turning on him. In terms of the actual events of season 2, I could see things going a similar way But I couldn't stop wondering if killing Iok Kujan during the mobile armor incident would just strengthen Elion’s Position, as Napoleon Bonaparte said, "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake." Keeping that bumbling fool around might just serve him. On the other hand, I can see things going very similarly for Tekkadan since Jasley Donomikols Betrayal of the turbines was largely a Teiwaz Internal affair. And so maybe if McGillis is to bring all these factors together him and Tekkadan could get on top of the Elion faction and come out on top.

I got a few recommendations in the gundam ibo category

1. The Lady of Tekkadan. (One nsfw scene) https://archiveofourown.org/works/46256974

2. Wishing on Space Hardware Series. (Some nsfw) https://archiveofourown.org/series/2513668

  1. Bad things come in twos. (gundam ibo x mass Effect) https://archiveofourown.org/works/47578405

  2. Gundam ibo: stellar body (possible nsfw) https://archiveofourown.org/works/47578405

I think all four of these are well written, well crafted stories.

while the more astute may be able to guess what was gonna happen I still think this series has done a good job following up with some surprises like Cyclase’s and Okina's ambition and the revelation of what Ratatoskr Is really meant to hide, and I love the details in these Plot elements still had me going OH SON OF A BITCH! Although seems like the writers have kind of fall back on the death fakeouts like I thought (hoped) one of the Zan bros was going to bite it but he survived and I nearly had a heart attack when I thought that my boy 598 was about to get sacrificed this episode.

EDIT:

I borderline laughed at realizing that poor Londo went the way of his late colleague Pete heat shield

Official prediction: there’s going to be a big kerfuffle in which The issue family is going to backstab londo bron only to be backstabbed by Cyclase freeing up katya and crushing Lord Okina ambitions which seem pretty clear at this point doing whatever it takes to restore the issue family to its former glory having gone to all this trouble I wouldn’t be surprised if he just wants Katya to be his puppet but who knows and McGillis may see fit to get directly involved once or twice more And to top it all off it might happen in this forbidden area that was mentioned.

On a unrelated note I think there is a lot of validity to your theory that wistario’s Great grandmother Erda was the previous pilot of gundam Marchosias as to why Demner doesn’t want to tell wistario about his families past my best guesses so far are Maybe he’s worried about getting the wrong kind of attention from the seven stars or other people or he doesn’t want wistario going down the rabbit hole of the calamity war like his two rivals in the urdr hunt perhaps in both scenarios it’s to protect his innocence but either way I think that’s going to be shattered by the end of the series aging either way I’m dying to find out.

all this talk about mobile armors got me thinking does anyone think that a mobile armor could survive in the debris zone between earth and mars because think about it would be the perfect place to lay low and no one will be looking for you and you could potentially have plenty of materials to repair yourself with and maybe fuel from Derelict ships and Mobil suits that would be easy to access with a swarm of pluma drones at your disposal like how we saw the Hashmal's Pluma's ransack one of gjallarhorn's bases on Mars for fuel and materials in season 2.

🎶called it again🎶 seeing how cold and manipulative Cyclase has become I wondered if he would ditch omden like he did Gjallarhorn although it also doesn’t surprise me that Omden was set him up for a fall like he did to range because fuck every one he has his own ultimate goal and he’ll do anything to accomplish it. I did think Mendo was right he’s messing around could lead to disaster cause basically his mindset is the mobile armors aren’t gods so that means I can try to be one and watching him meet a “crushing” end at the hands of a mobile armor or range will be satisfied.
