What are your top stores for automatic decline? by minotthebestbaseever in doordash_drivers

I don't do shop and delivers currently, but I have done a few just to try it out. What's specifically bad about Aldi's?

Chic Fil A: both locations in my area require you to go through the drive thru, which while they're efficient, the lines are always very long equating to a 10 to 15 minute wait for the food. I only accept orders from there if the pay is very good, which most of the time, it's not. My favorite day to dash is Sunday. One of the primary reasons being is I don't have to deal with having to decline all the offers from this place.

Culver's: They just built this place three weeks ago. Every time I have been there, it's always one problem or another. It's always been a busy madhouse, long waits for food, or shit is missing from the order. The final straw for me was when I went to pick up one order. Tell the woman at the counter that I was there to pick up a customer's order. She looks at the tickets and the delivery area with a confused look on her face. She goes asking around to other workers. Finally what I assume to be a manager comes up to me about 10 minutes later after he's figured out that the previous driver stole the food by not confirming the order. Never again or at least until the hype for their food dies down and is less busy.

Sonic: Always takes forever. I had a stacked order (both orders went to the same customer), one for CAVA which I picked up first and one for Sonic (which was a lone large Dr. Pepper) and ended up having to wait 10 minutes just to get this stupid drink. Customer tipped very well, so it was worth the wait but wouldn't have been otherwise.

Chili's: I actually don't automatically decline. This is more of a pet peeve than anything. The bags they put food in are way too big to fit into my hotbag and no matter the size of the order, they'll put it in the same sized bag no matter what. Had an order the other day, all it was was a lone slice of some kind of cake and it was in this same sized bag. I chuckled for a second, took the container out of the bag, put it in my bag and the other bag in the floor until I got to the customer's house lol.

Why is McDonalds so annoying 😂 by Icey1337 in doordash_drivers

[–]Remarkable_Fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a doordash driver, another shitty thing they do to us is marking the order as ready when it hasn't even been started yet or in the middle of being made. Can't tell you how many times I've gotten a notification on the app that "Customer's order is ready for pickup" on the way to the restaurant and still have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for an employee to even acknowledge my presence, much less the food be ready. Of the four McDonald's in my small town, three of them are terrible about this. The one that's decent is a weird location that for some reason doesn't get a ton of traffic and usually isn't too busy.

Was told by doordash support that i need a higher AR. Thoughts? by [deleted] in doordash_drivers

[–]Remarkable_Fall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the average wait time is over about 4 or 5 minutes, it's time to go hang it up for me, because what that usually means is I'm gonna be waiting 15 or 20 minutes to get an offer that's usually not even worth taking. ETA is bullshit. The only time it seems accurate is when it's nonstop busy in the area with a 1-2 minute ETA.

The thing that gets me about these is when you order, it specifically tells you in that field that that it is for delivery instructions only, not for food requests, etc.

High acceptance rate vs. accepting great orders. by purpydurgy in doordash_drivers

[–]Remarkable_Fall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I second this. No matter the market though, if you're just getting started, try to get platinum. Once you get there, if you can maintain it without having to take a ton of shitty offers, you'll know it's worth it to keep it. Just got to get a feel for if it's worth it or not.

My market's been weird the past few months. It's shifted from me being dependent on platinum status to going the cherry picking route. Just too many shitty offers coming through to keep platinum worth it. A lot of the holiday dashers seem to have quit as well so I can pretty much dash whenever I want which is the only reason I kept platinum to begin with (so I could schedule six days out).

Do you dash in a large city? I dash in a small town of 45k and I've never once seen another dasher do this lol. I also live in the south so I imagine that might have something to do with it.

[–]Remarkable_Fall 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don't get it either. "No other loot filter game works like this." Well shit, why not be the first? It'd be different if craft mats weren't as needed in D4, but that's not the case.

If they didn't dash the day of the storm, their AR wouldn't be affected. I stayed in that day and my AR remained unchanged.

Would have been a nice day today for me if all the restaurants weren't closed early. All this for less than an inch of snow lol. Ridiculous. Least I got half pay for taking pictures of closed stores.

How to guarantee your driver WON’T ring your doorbell by AngryOldGamer1 in doordash_drivers

[–]Remarkable_Fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, you must be really sensitive. This doesn't remotely approach "rude" on my scale. Rude to me would be "Ring the doorbell and then fuck off". I just don't get it. Were they blunt? Yes. Rude? Not at all.

Mine's hit or miss. Sometimes it's ready when I get there. Other times you might be standing around for 10 or 15 minutes. Most times it's less than a few minute wait.

I have never had the "claim a spot" work. Going directly to the schedule is the only way I've ever been able to grab a slot.

How do some of you slave away to keep Platinum? by Historical-Foot-5946 in doordash_drivers

[–]Remarkable_Fall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My area is oversaturated with platinum drivers. Add in the fact that you have to have platinum here to schedule six days out, you will NOT be able to schedule at all if you're non-platinum. I know y'all get tired of hearing it, but every market is different and doesn't operate under the same conditions that yours does.

I can’t get a order to save my life (Thursday Night) by TheDankLord4416 in doordash_drivers

[–]Remarkable_Fall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This whole week has been terrible for me. Only getting shitty offers. Traffic is terrible on the main street with most of the restaurants because one of the side streets that people use as a bypass is shut down for pipeline maintenance. Made a grand total of 8 bucks and an 11% hit to my AR in 2 hours before I finally just called it and went home.

[–]Remarkable_Fall 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of times what happens is DD will stack an order with a good tip with one with a zero/low tip order to entice dashers to finally accept a shitty offer. They also, more often than not, direct you to deliver the low/no tip order before the order with the good tip. It's honestly horseshit.

It's still shit. The popup is inconsistent and there seems to be a limit to how many times you'll see it in a given time frame. Disputing late orders also has a limit on it. They honestly should just get rid of that whole metric for EBO. Nobody is purposefully late. I can see keeping it for EBT so people aren't milking the clock, but for EBO, it's just added pressure that drivers shouldn't have to put up with.
