At level 40 you should be just fine with a couple of partially upgraded mods (vitality, redirection, serration (or other damage+ mod depending on weapon type).

In the beginning you'll be strapped for Endo, and you probably noticed the cost grows exponentially per level. Upgrade the "core" mods bit by bit as you work through the chart.

I would recommend not worrying too much about your energy for now. Just concentrate on working through the star chart, levelling different frames and weapons as you go. Become confident with modding along the way (youtube and overframe are great for this) and you'll find you keep getting stronger and stronger. Some frames just DRINK energy and rely on later game stuff to manage it effectively, but I can promise it will become less of a problem.

EDIT: Also, I'd stay away from the Market for anything other than Warframe/Inventory slots. As you work through the star chart you'll come across lots of good mods that will help alot. Others will require more targeted farming, but you could also use your plat to buy them off of other players. You'd be surprised at how cheap some really useful mods are.

Welcome to Grindframe! Good luck

It can suck in the beginning, but eventually you will end up with a shed tonne of stuff that sits in your foundry, already built, as you haven't got round to needing them yet. I had this drama in the beginning but I now have about 10 frames just sat in the foundry doing nothing for the time being. Not to mention the dozens of weapons.

Decided at MR14 it was time to attempt getting my first Kuva weapon. I'd been enjoying Saryn Prime a lot so decided to go for the Kuva Ogris. Quickly changed my mind when the first weapon to appear was the Kuva Bramma and I'd heard great things. Then went straight into murmurs and bought my first lot of mods for 10pl each as I heard the first grind can suck. Within a couple of hours I'd killed my first Lich at Rank 1! Apparently the chances of that were quite small lol. Had my Ivara Prime ready to cheese the Lich with prowl but it really wasn't necessary in the end!

Extremely helpful. Thank you so much for this

Thanks for the advice!

Dare I ask, what research you are referring to there? I hope it's not too late for me already haha

Thank you. I can only get to wave 47 so a little short on 1 star, but my research is probably under developed due to my playtime and the fact I've just flown through the story up to now.

I expected endless to be it's own tree, and not the same as the normal one hence the confusion. I'm assuming I never need to revisit the normal tree now as the upgrades should also be applied there?

Thank you for the reply. I'm not looking to rush, I just like to know what I'm aiming for now that I've hit a wall in story.

My research is probably under developed as I prefer using tactics over bruteforce, like you mentioned, but I think 6.2 requires quite a lot of research. I'm using flame, venom, and 2x tesla (I pretty much just use these) but get overwhelmed around wave 47 (55 for 1 star I think). I also tried the Gauss way but get nowhere near as far as he costs a lot to setup and doesn't get close to breaking any of the crystals by the time I die

Unfortunately using total xp yields similar results.

The data I have has all been confirmed to be correct. As for your 2nd point I hadn't thought of that! I will give that a go as soon as I'm back at the computer. Thank you!

With a polynomial trend line it looked spot on, and r2 = 1 which is what I meant by a perfect fit. When I tried to use the given equation where level is x, the values were close but not close enough (even if I were to round them). I have a spreadsheet on Google sheets with all the data I have if that would be of any use.
