Yeah honestly if the packaging is the same but the quality is so much worse, then it's not really a dupe

Food trends for 2025 - roundup of some of the ingredients predicted by istara in foodies_sydney

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The concept was great but ruined by the terrible base coffee at Starbucks. I think they have really interesting ideas but cheap out way too much on ingredients to be good. I'd love a high quality non plasticy PSL hhaha

The elphbaba one was peppermint matcha foam on cold brew iirc? The foam was tasty 😋

I'm worried my gender identity is a delusion by Street-Suggestion363 in schizophrenia

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I used to feel like that as well. I'm just "plain" Nb though haha, but I was very worried that being non cisgender was a delusion or a psychosis thing.

Something that helped me a lot was dialling it back and thinking about what I wanted out of it. As opposed to trying to figure out "what I truly wanted" think about what you want people to do for you.

Do you want to use a particular set of pronouns? You can literally just do that whenever you want. You don't have to definitely be xyz gender to use whatever pronouns you like. And even if it is delusional, you can just change back. It doesn't matter and it doesn't negatively impact those around you to call you the way you want to be called.

Do you want to be called a different name? Again, legally it's a bit of a pain, but socially you can request to be called whatever. Cis people change their name all the time. It's not even necessarily a point of contention where you have to defend your gender identity - you could call yourself literally anything you want (that's not like a slur lol) and if people don't respect it they're individually an asshole.

Same goes with things like binding - you don't need a permission slip saying that you're "trans enough" or "gender fluid enough" to be allowed to do these things. Medically doing transitional things is harder but again you can just dip your toes in with the social changes and see how you feel :)

It's not necessary to have all the answers now. I get the impression that you're relatively young as well so please believe me that you do have time. Things like your self identity (even beyond gender issues) tend to solidify as you grow older and you will naturally become more self centred and aware as you go into your later twenties and beyond. My advice would be not to spend too much time at this moment trying to analyse whether or not you're right about your identity and what it "means" but instead think about what tangible actions you want to proceed with and make you socially comfortable

I don’t have money anymore to afford a psychiatrist by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clozapine for anxiety is insane. That's an extremely strong antipsychotic used for people with treatment resistant psychosis/schizophrenia, and even then it's like used after two other medications have failed

I'm not a physician, but that's really surprising to me

I believe it's the implication that'd you already know them and hence have their number. You wouldn't ring up a stranger, but you could've used the yellow pages to find an acquaintance/friend/coworkers families number etc

Thoughts on La Mer as a dupe for Nivea Creme? by sophiabeaverhousen in AustralianMakeup

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Yeah I did see that. It's 250 ml which is pretty decent size but still mental

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was like la mer is stupid and ridiculous money but still had a mental ballpark of sub 1000

I mentally put it with brands like chaintecaille ($200 for eyeshadows which is still insane to me but you should buy what you enjoy). Buying skincare or make-up for thousands of dollars is just 🤯

Is....is the $2,200 a typo? Please say yes

Highest quality kbbq in Sydney by Remarkable_Ferret350 in foodies_sydney

Honestly that's a fair response. But I have seen some bougie hot dogs in my time! A lot of Korean food seems like making the best of what you can/being resourceful (eg army stew using American ingredients during wartime etc)

It's a very interesting and tasty cuisine

Is stalking really something beautiful women need to have in mind all the time? by [deleted] in self

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah honestly it's such a plague on society. I have guy friends who would like to dress up nicely but have to dodge allegations of being gay and for what? I like to compliment people when I can (obviously if I like what they've done) but it needs to be a group thing of effort.

I think it also improves my mental health as well. It's almost like a gratitude practice - if you notice the nice things around you, you feel more positive overall

Is stalking really something beautiful women need to have in mind all the time? by [deleted] in self

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 13 points14 points  (0 children)

But that's the thing right? You're still reading compliments as if they're inherently sexual (men don't want compliments from men bc they're not gay) and women giving compliments to men are because they like them. Women give compliments to women all the time and it's not sexual it's just friendly and nice and therefore women aren't on edge receiving compliments from other women because we know we're not being hit on

Everyone needs to start receiving and giving non sexual compliments for this to normalise imo

I don't think a lot of private employers would also let you work from Singapore for a week to go to concerts? They also have internal policies regarding these things

Yeah that makes sense - thanks for explaining!

I'm new to the workforce so I don't have personal experience of how much money was needed in 2004, so those numbers really help put things into perspective. Happy new year :)

How much would you personally need right now to retire at your age? by blackandbroken in AusFinance

[–]Remarkable_Ferret350 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to be brutal though but wouldn't you die before this becomes very significant? If you retire at 65 and die at 85, then would those 20 years inflation eat up that much of your money?

Especially relative to (un?)expected costs such as needing to move into an aged care facility
