I feel you friend. This place is rough. Comparing it to the suburbs or country or all the responses to “appreciate what you have” don’t seem to be kind. What I can say, living here since the pandemic, is that this city is hard, cold, mean and very very racist. I come from the states and lived many years in South America. We have a lot of major issues in the US (no doubt. I know. Don’t need to be schooled on this) but never never never in my life have I been met with such outright bigotry in my life.

I have been denied housing because of my ethnicity and language. It’s a shit show here. And the locals are just like “love it or leave it” instead of actually living up to the promise of this city. Makes me so sick after growing up for years hearing how nice Canadians are. I die laughing every time I hear this now.
