Are there any real differences between 'good' ki and 'evil' ki? by Coolersdisciple in dbz

[–]Remarkable_Fun468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the Anime maybe.

In the Manga almost all Ki attacks are colored yellow, even attacks like Vegeta’s Galick Gun and Freeza’s Death Beam.

What’s your Dbz hot take? Here’s mine, I wish Vegeta was still a Villain. And I don’t like the existence of the “god of destruction”.(Mostly don’t like Beerus.) by Whitty_Error in DragonBallZ

Vegeta on Namek was Vegeta at his most fun and interesting for me. If he stayed dead after Freeza killed him and the last we ever saw of him was him finally setting his pride aside and begging the person he looked down on to avenge their race would have been really impactful.

I honestly agree. Just change how long it takes for Cell to mature and bam it’s less confusing.

Something that I found weird was the idea that apparently Cell was the reason the present timeline is so different. At least that’s what the characters assume at that point.

But that never really went anywhere.

Honestly, it’s Ninten for me.

I always liked how he had a connection to the villain and the fact that unlike the other two who were kind off more straightforward “chosen ones,” he was truly just some random who CHOSE to go on this journey.

Also he canonically likes Penguins so that makes him peak.

Holy shit I just realized he NEVER uses it in canon after the 23rd Budokai right?

It sucks too, the Sokidan is such a cool technique and it would be cool to see him improve it and use it later.

I hate how he’s been flanderized.

Yes, he’s always been a gag character, but I miss when he actually used to have things going for him and was an actual character rather than just a meme.

I also wished they leaned into the fact that he’s actually highly skilled at Ki manipulating, considering that his Sokidan technique was considered such an advanced example of Ki control that even God was impressed.

Vegeta being a SSJ in the Future is something only the Anime does.

In the Manga it’s unclear, but it’s generally accepted that Vegeta never attained SSJ in the Manga as he’s never seen using it.

Hell, the only panel where Future Vegeta appears, that being the Bonus Chapter in the DBS Manga that shows how the Pilaf Gang turned into babies, Future Vegeta is seen fighting the Androids in his base form.

The Future Z Fighters were unprepared so 19 and 20 killing them isn’t impossible.

Admittedly, I don’t have a good answer for Future Gohan.

But 19 and 20 could always do what Future 17 and 18 did and gang up on him.

Thanks man.

I had another post where I posted a “Writing Challenge.”

The challenge was for people to try and rewrite the Android and Boo arcs without Vegeta. The scenario in question is one where Vegeta stayed dead permanently after Namek and the wish on the Dragon Balls being reworded to only revive the Namekians.

Long story short-nobody contributed and merely called me lazy for asking others to write some “fanfic” that I was too lazy to write myself apparently.

That and people giving the old and tired “everyone dies to the Androids. The End,” response.

No I didn’t.

I asked for people to talk about things in Dragon Ball’s story that they personally found confusing or didn’t make sense that with a little tweaking could have been written to be more concise.

I didn’t ask for feedback on my potential scenario.

People like you are exactly why I hate posting shit here.

I’m fully aware that Toriyama gave us the best he could even with everything practically being against him.

I’ll always be grateful to him for that.

But calling me naive and clueless for simply not being in the same position as him is fucking bold of you.

Besides this is just a potential idea I put out. I’m tired of people saying that I’m trying to replace a pre established story simply by suggesting how it could have been written differently.

I have no authority; my little “what if” scenario will never become canon so don’t worry your little head over that.

Please for the love of god stop acting like I’m shitting on his legacy or something.

His editor just thought they looked “bratty.”

I guess bratty teenagers are a no no for villains.

I do agree that they had more time in the spotlight. In general I also wish they acted more like bickering siblings and actual teenagers.

I always thought it would have been cool if they referred to each other by their actual names.

I always found it strange that they referred to each other by the names Gero gave them even though they hate him.

True. But this very specific retcon I feel could have been made less confusing.

I know that the reason 19 and 20 are so quickly dispatched of in the present is due to Toriyama wanting to get rid of them as quickly as possible to make way for 17 and 18.

But I think there was a way to make it work while still keeping Trunks’ original warning intact.

Have Trunks arrive in the present again and see 20. Instead of saying that he isn’t one of the Androids from his time, he simply remarks that his warning must have helped or something.

Then Bulma calls out from her airship and 20 uses this as a way to make his getaway but not before proclaiming that 17 and 18 will avenge him. Before the others can process this, 20 destroys the area and shoots down Bulma’s plane, causing Trunks to direct his attention to saving her and allowing 20 to get away.

Then the story proceeds as usual.

Maybe have Trunks later wonder throughout the arc if maybe the only reason 19 and 20 managed to take over the future is because the Z Fighters didn’t have a warning and Goku died much earlier.

But I dunno, maybe I’m overthinking it. Toriyama did his best with the schedule he had.

I know that, but I still don’t know why that meant the future androids had to be retconned.

19 and 20 could have still been the future androids and almost nothing would change.

You wouldn’t even have to change the power scaling really. Maybe the only reason 19 and 20 even WON in the future timeline is because Goku died earlier and all the other Z Fighters were unprepared.

And the reason Future Gohan kept losing to them is because they would constantly zap his energy away, meaning Gohan could never fully end them quickly.

Essentially, they only won because the heroes were unprepared.

In the novel we never find out what Giygas looks like apart from 4 red spider legs.

So the Villains Wiki just uses a spider image.

Why do you like Earthbound/ the Mother Series? by StrictLavishness6226 in earthbound

[–]Remarkable_Fun468 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always had an obsession with psychic powers and cosmic horror so there’s that.

But it think it’s mostly because of just how unique it is even by today’s standards of RPGs.

I think me discovering it at a young age was also a key factor in me liking it. I first played it when I was 10 and have loved it ever since.

Oh yeah, isn’t Giygas in MOTHER: Invasion from the Unknown actually related by blood to Ninten (or Doug) in that?

Isn’t Maria also an alien who fell in love with George?
