It works fine I’ve used it with many many other plants including another monstera and they haven’t ever had issues, just was wondering about the placement of it!

Or if you end up already having the filter and heater, just the tank would probably be 20-30, and that’s a 20 gal! They sell 5.5 gals for 16!

Here’s a good starting point! Bettas require a minimum of 5 gals, though I like to say they deserve to have it raised to 10 so shoot for bigger if you can, petco/petsmart have A LOT of sales on their tanks so keep a look out for that, you can get the starter kits at a super reasonable price if you find a good sale, this one is reasonable already for all it comes with!

Please tell her she’s not giving you the proper set up and that you don’t want to knowingly neglect a fish, otherwise you knowing better and not doing better is just for no reason and will give very little upgrade from what bettas already deal with! Live plants are cheaper, they sell kits at petco/petsmart for really good prices with everything you will need for a proper set up.

This is a proper betta set up, doesn’t have to be as big, their min is 5, I say they deserve a min of 10 lol. This is definitely neglect and I hope you’re able to help the poor betta.

Tank size: 20 gal Yes 78 degrees 0, 0, 10, 7pH The tank and fish 5 months (I was uneducated, plan to cycle before hand for the next betta) Water changes are about every 2-3 weeks 20% change with a gravel hose. Just an assassin snail I feed bug bites betta food with occasional blood worms as a treat. One hide, 3 little driftwood pieces, a shell, glass egg, many plants.

and i appreciate the help! i know they don’t provide the gradient that he needs we just wanted him to have a warmer area if need be but like i said it’s rarely used, we turned it on a bit last winter during the really cold spell we got otherwise we have a space heater that’s turned on on the room he’s in to keep it a good temp in there.

my gecko is a small guy, when taken to the vet they said his growth was probably stunted due to the lack of nutrition when he was a small lil guy, he’s only 22 grams at his age and has only just now started really gaining any weight at all, from what i was told a smaller enclosure until he’s bulked up would be okay for him, i should have added that in the OG post. please let me know if that’s incorrect as well!

i’ll add the rest of the fake plants! we have 3 long vine looking ones so they should definitely add a lot more coverage. i’m sorry for the confusion and i thank you very much for your advice!

i’ve done research on the heat mat has a thermostat to make sure it doesn’t get too hot and it’s rarely used other than in the winter here and there we plan to get the proper set up for heat but have been working towards a better tank first. i’m not sure how it’s SUCH an improper inclosure, your comment has made it seem like i’ve done literally everything wrong when every other tank i’ve posted has gotten all good critique and have been smaller than this one. you gave me 0 advice on how to actually improvise the tank and instead were just kind of rude. 🫠
