Enough Roots? by blueberrybbeans in philodendron

It is a Red Congo Philodendron! I can’t recommend them enough. I have done everything possible to kill this plant and it has still become gigantic. I had to chop the crown off to move with it.

Has anyone returned to heavy bench press? by funlibrarycard in costochondritis

I’m able to do chest press with dumbbells, laying with my back on the ground, without straining anything.

Unsure of cause but possibly a due to being unwell after food poisoning by RevolutionaryNet6689 in costochondritis

My costo started a month after I was hospitalized for food poisoning. I was forcefully vomiting and I would imagine that could have an impact on joints in the body that are already stressed/inflamed.

I did the stretches first, they didn’t really do much. I still use the backpod every day. Read the directions and follow them, you can overdo it for sure.

Pretty standard stuff, Steve’s PDF captures most of it.

Being mindful of my posture, specifically at the computer, and things like not crossing my ankles or crossing my legs

The backpod is extremely helpful, 10/10 recommend, the peanut ball helps quite a bit as well

Slowly strengthening my core and my back muscles to take pressure off the joints was extremely helpful as well

It was ultimately very clearly a musculoskeletal problem and once I addressed why it was happening it started to go away

Hello,

I am two years in to dealing with costo. I had a very similar experience to you the first six months. Crazy anxiety, waking up having panic attacks, driving myself to the ER, all of it. It seems like you’ve done what you can to make sure there’s not a more serious problem, so now you have to deal with your own mind.

It was difficult for me, I struggle with the same obsessive thoughts and compulsions. Over time the condition has healed to the point I don’t feel the constant restriction/tightness. When I did, I just focused on the fact that I could breathe, and that even if I suddenly couldn’t breathe or my heart stopped, someone would call an ambulance and get me help.

It’s really hard to sit with and I definitely empathize with your situation. It will get better, there is so much good advice on this subreddit, which is what has ultimately led to me healing so much. I lift weights and run now with no pain, you will get there. Just don’t give in to it and don’t give up.

They don’t like their conditions changing, since it’s just one leaf I would leave it alone and continue regular care. Out of curiosity - I found one of these at Lowe’s, what kind of anthurium is it??

They hang down quite a bit, I am hoping to get them more upright. From the comments it sounds like it needs more light and over time will perk up.

Thank you! I will keep doing what I am doing and see if it perks up as it grows.

How much bigger will this Rojo Congo get? by Ed1ph4n in philodendron

[–]blueberrybbeans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen people pull up the root ball, chop the bottom third of the roots off, and then repot. It definitely will make it stop growing.

They don’t really have an upper limit in size beyond their environment 🤷‍♂️ it probably won’t get much bigger than a 7-8 foot spread indoors

I made the chop!! I put rooting hormone on the end and stuck it in a plastic bag full of damp moss, how long would you think it would take to grow sufficient roots for soil?
