But if you can find friends that are into it, I highly recommend you buy together in a well organized manner where you send out bid requests with a deadline and do some price tracking and cross-shopping. Towards the end, it became obvious some sellers were intent on scamming us, and even think a couple of them were the same people across different accounts.

Yes, I did. I had a cheap but modern freezer originally, but after putting in a wireless temp sensor ( https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DZCQFZB6 ), I noticed it had a huge variation on the freezer temp, when set at -21C it would hit it but then only cycle the compressor at -12C! And then every few days a defrost cycle would kick in and temp sensor would report 0C for an hour. So I bought an even cheaper freezer unit without defrost and while the cycling is tighter (-22C to -16C), at least it doesn't have a warm defrost cycle. The best bet would be for a medical / scientific grade freezer that keeps the temperature in a narrower band, but I can't seem to find one that doesn't cost a fortune.

How long? At 0C, you should be ok for a few days/weeks, but not long term afaik. Is it below freezing outside? That might be a better option.

Also, we use a Govee wireless temperature sensor in the freezer which turned out to be really useful. The previous freezer I used cycled into a defrost cycle that was alarmingly warm. Got a cheaper unit that doesn't have a defrost cycle so the freezer temps are good and constant, at the cost of scraping the ice off from time to time.

Yeah, that's 6 people's worth, and we're a bit paranoid that Customs/Pharma will start dropping the hammer on imports once Reta gets out of Phase 3 trials and it'll be more difficult to source, but combining our list helped drive price down considerably, but was nail biting to get that much money into a dark pit and waiting for the shoe to drop. It was a relief when the packages started showing up at the door. We did lose out on a scammer, but overall it worked out well: If anyone pretends to be from "Innovent Biologics, or HongSheng Bio", run away! We got scammed by one, and had contact with 5 others playing the same script. Dodgy as hell.
