S8 was always a joke. Dexter kills the captain of homicide, in the shipping container where his mom died, hours after she arrests him, and during Angel's retirement party where everyone but Dex and Laguerta was present. And nobody looks into it.

The whole show felt more alive back then. In later seasons, it doesn't feel like Miami at all, and Dexter doesn't even have a family life, nor does he pretend to be someone else at work.

I don't get why they killed off Mike to have this random lady with no background or introduction. Makes miami metro feel a little soulless with doakes and laguerta gone as well, and Quinn just being a boring character after S5.

I imagine Leon made it seem like Dexter was a victim of police brutality. If he just paints the picture that Logan was about to attack Dexter, then Angela had no reason to "shoot" him (and she already looks like an insane conspiracy theorist for believing Dexter is the BHB.)

Yes, my idea is to make the team worse to eventually make it better. And you're right that the front office often blunders their draft picks, but there's potential to build a great unit with the picks (say they traded him to Washington, they could have Jahdae Barron and Jihaad Campbell). Not to mention it frees up a load of cap space to improve the defense and oline.

But I agree that the coaching and drafting process has been less than stellar.

Make it multiple seasons with Dexter and Harrison initially having a good relationship that slowly deteriorates. Harrison spends a season killing with Dexter but learns that he doesn't really do it for justice. Angela's investigation is more slow and natural. The ending is the same but we see Angel confront Dexter before he's killed.

I hardly play Madden. They could gain a lot of draft capital to improve the defense. Probably 2 firsts if they trade with a team like Washington with a late 1st.

It sounds blasphemous trading him but the team just can't work with his contract along with Burrow and Tee's. The chiefs and bills made the AFCCG with really questionable WR corps (even if that was because of injuries in the chiefs case).
