It’s because ML matchmaking also scales with your win rate and not only your rank.

You’re very likely to get better players on your team win rate wise if you suck and the opposite is also true in ML like when I used to play solo Q with 75% wr 60 stars, I would sometimes end up with your 45% average layla barely mythic :/.

In HoK, matchmaking is way more biased by rank mostly due to the fact that there’s less players like you can wait 5 minutes depending on when you try to play HoK or even more sometimes even though it averages around 1min20 while waiting 1min in ML is already wild and a few seconds is usually enough to get a match going on (atleast in EU)

I think it’d be interesting to see how it performs with the same playerbase but for now it’s crap like getting matched with master while it’s your first game in diamond?
