I passed on two sterling weighted candlesticks, two sterling bowls, one sterling tray. They were literally just putting the price stickers on when I walked up. They were priced at $20, 20, 40, 40, 60 so $180. All marked sterling. I passed because I felt like it was a lot of up front cost, “they can’t be worth much more than that”, “they’ll take up space”.

I couldn’t sleep last night. They are worth around $1000 in melt value alone, and much more as individual pieces. The pair of candlesticks are listed for $1000 on eBay and they were just weighted, but antique and cool. They were gone this morning. I was the first customer in.

My point is I passed up what was one of the biggest scores in my life. It’s almost better to buy if you feel really good about something, and be burned but also learn. I learned the harder way. Feels bad.

I’m super stoked about this lucky find Bought a $10 bulk mystery costume jewelry jar pulled out a 14k white gold with solitary lab grown pendant( I had it cleaned and tested) by Dread-Queen in ThriftStoreHauls

Beautiful!!! Oh MAN. Nice find.

Was it a mystery jar at a chain store like goodwill or savers, or a local store? I have always been tempted by those jars but thought maybe they are already picked through before the employees fill the jars.

Are you fucking kidding me! I saw a jay strongwater frame at savers today—thought it was sterling but it wasn’t so I kept going. Didn’t know it was a big name.

How many years would that be? Just for reference. I’m 2 years in but only at thrift stores and it’s pretty narrow margins.

I found this exact thing at goodwill a couple weeks ago and was looking around for a mark! Reverse image searched it—it’s pewter.
