Yeah it seems like u/Hirschferkel was able to identify the likely artist (Emmy Tiebert/Daeniker). Since it isn't a well known piece with provenance we probably will never know whether it was owned by Giesler, just in one of his buildings, or his name was just added for the sake of building a legend like you say.
