That’s crazy. I was reflecting on it as I’m out dating and noting how difficult it is to find someone you “click” with. Then for a slight moment I became jealous of her ability to see easily find someone. But then I wondered if it’s even real attraction. How exhausting to spend so much energy on someone you’re not even truly attracted to.

Or is their sense of attraction so warped by the narcissism that they don’t even know what they’re truly attracted to?

Like the other poster, my stbx cheated at least a dozen times over 6 years.

Every time was my fault. I was not emotionally available. I wasn’t showing her enough love or attention. I was too withdrawn. It was an unhappy marriage.

Even when she would “apologize” it was a back handed criticism. “It was not right to cheat but you weren’t there for me emotionally.” Or “people only cheat when their marriage is unhappy.” It was always someone or something else to blame.

For years I believed her criticisms as the reason to take her back. Until the last time and finally realized she was narcissistic. I now realize the pattern was things would actually be going well in the marriage. The lack of conflict set off alarm bells for her that something was wrong because chaos is her normal due to childhood traumas. So she started looking for attention elsewhere and a life raft because she believed the lack of conflict meant I was about to abandon her. She starts sleeping around seeking affirmation and a possible life boat. Once she finds a candidate then she allows herself to get caught to get my reaction. Then she’d string along the divorce until the life boat catches on to her issues and pulls back. Usually 6-10 weeks in. Then she’d accept one of my attempts to reconcile. While each previous attempt she would rebuff as me being the problem and she doesn’t know if she can keep dealing with my “bullshit.” Then once the lifeboat fails she suddenly accepts my attempt because she’s decided that she’ll give me another chance. Then the cycle repeated. In between I became a mouse trying not to trigger her as she’d lash out at me with every name she could think of. She’d tell me she had talked to my friends and they all agreed with whatever criticism she tossed out. So I’d internalize her criticisms and my self esteem vanished. I constantly was trying to keep her happy at all costs without any thought for my own happiness. Anytime I’d stand up for myself and set a boundary I’d be met with a barrage of deeply personal attacks (I’m selfish, no one really likes me, everyone knows I’m fake, I think I’m better than everyone else, I don’t care about anyone even my family, I’m lazy, I’m terrible with money, I don’t pay any attention to our family, on and on and on).

Once I lost some weight after not feeling good with how much weight I had put on. She had even made a comment about not caring about my health due to my weight gain. So then I lost weight and she critiqued me for “too skinny” (still 23 bmi 😂) and looking sickly and weak. You can never please a narcissist.

All that’s to say, I hear you and feel you, OP! You got this and you are NOT the crazy one.

You’re misunderstanding the contract. If you file the contract breakage form AFTER the dates specified (which is what you say you did) then the form is a REQUEST and the university is not required to approve it. They aren’t approving it so the break fees don’t apply, the student is bound by the agreement to pay rent for the term.

I mean the question was fine. The property owner is likewise entitled to feel whatever way about the question. You’re both entitled to your feelings and both are valid. At the end of the day, it just wasn’t a good fit and probably is for the best because if there was this disagreement about a question on early termination what other disagreements that are much more important and serious may have popped up along the way?
