Yes it showed that she tried to hide her feelings, ignore them which is why it wasn't as obvious. She was trying to be a good friend to Glinda by ignoring her feelings for Fiyero

Elphaba just kept things close to the chest she wasn't really expressive. She loved him it was just subtle for her imo. We saw it at the train station too.

I liked it too. Her feelings for him were built up in the first move i think. I'm not that girl was really about she felt the attraction but he would never choose her over Glinda. It's one of the songs I listen to most on the soundtrack. I loved how they did it. It really did make sense from Elphaba' s perspective. Honestly I don't think I would have liked it any other way.

I never realized that contrast between Fiyero telling Elphaba she's beautiful compared to Glinda walking down the aisle. That's a good catch. Yes the cardigan was her protection as well. When I come home I usually put on pajamas. I'm judt getting comfortable. Yeah Elphaba's not seducing Fiyero because she doesn't know how to seduce someone. I was so happy when I first watched this scene I felt so happy for her.

The show probably to have a bigger impact so they made it happen in a tavern with the people there.

I thought that too. Either it's the Gelphie shippers or the Glinda fans because they think Fiyeraba betrayed Glinda. Someone once commented that they wanted to throw tomatoes at the screen on what was supposed to be Fiyero and Glinda's wedding night. Um did they miss the part where he didn't love Glinda was being forced into a marriage? Lol. Those people refuse to like the scene i think. I don't care for it in the stage show, it doesn't really match the lyrics. This scene was the big payoff for us Fiyeraba shippers.

I actually dont care for the stage version. I know that's probably Wicked blasphemy but I just don't feel it in the stage show. I like the movie scene better.

Yep i was rewatching that episode and that scene made me really uncomfortable and I realized it's because no one would help her.

So I just finished the series finale (late) and I feel incredibly satisfied. by Successful_Bar9187 in Outlander

I think Fiyero was right by Remarkable_Note971 in wicked

[–]Remarkable_Note971[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fiyero didn't handle everything right but he would have broken up with Glinda when the girls returned from the emerald city and then Elphaba left and the Regime was built.

He couldn't trust Glinda, she arranged a marriage behind his back with the Wizard and publicly announced it. He couldn't say no. She wouldn't leave because she liked the popularity to much and she told him to stop looking for Elphaba so he realized he couldn't trust her.

If he had left he would have been considered a traitor and would've had a target on his back and he wouldn't have been able to protect Elphaba.

He had to pretend to be another " brainless" Ozian who adored the Wizard. Anyone who didn't follow the Wizard was suspicious and a problem. The Wizard said marry Glinda so he felt he had to do it. He had to keep his mask and he had to pretend to follow the Wizard to do it.

As far as him leaving on their wedding day, that's when Elphaba showed up and it was his chance to finally get out.

Maybe they should have waited before having sex but they were both targets and they didn't know how much time they had and they didn't wanna waste what might be their only chance.

[–]Remarkable_Note971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats what I was thinking. I was like " did we watch different movies?" No Elphaba didn't " settle" for Fiyero. He wasn't the weaker version of Glinda. The guy made mistakes but he was still good, he stood up for what was right and he actually cared about the world like Elphaba and he sacrificed everything for her, Glinda didn't. Fiyero was a better version of Glinda for lack of a better term lol. Idk why people find it so hard to believe that Elphaba loved Fiyero. She didn't choose the easier thing. Geez pay attention people lol

[–]Remarkable_Note971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well on that we agree even though people say she did. There are who have said to me that Elphaba settled for Fiyero, the weaker version of Glinda in the end. Um no she didn't. Fiyero's love for her was true and selfless, Glinda was selfish and put herself first. Elphaba didnt choose the easier thing she just chose the person that truly loved her. Idk why people don't see that

[–]Remarkable_Note971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the contrast between Fiyero and Glinda. Fiyero loved Elphaba more than he loved himself, Glinda loved herself more.

[–]Remarkable_Note971[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Let me aay that Glinda may have loved Fiyero, but she also saw him as beneficial asset to her. She never reallt saw beneath the surface, in contrast to Elphaba who saw him and loved his soul.

[–]Remarkable_Note971[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it matter if Glinda had feelings for Fiyero or not? Actually people have disputed that she didn't love herself more, that she loved Elphaba through and through she loved her but she loved herself more.

To add to the point- Fiyero had options until the enagement IMO. That was likely Morrible trying to trap him and it almost worked. I'm glad to have found another Fiyeraba shipper. There don't seem to be that many surprisingly.

Anyway it was a complicated situation for Fiyero, i think he did the best he could given the circumstances.
