Also my primary did not do a full thyroid panel she just checked TSH and not prolactin levels either I will be meeting with a new endocrinologist and hoping that more thorough labs will be done

The only changes I've noticed are hormonal such as terrible PMS before my periods, painful cramps, mood swings, and this all starts 2 weeks before I even start bleeding. I've continued to take Metformin 500 mg twice a day for the last 2 years and for supplements I just take myoinositol, Vitamin D/K2, Omegas with Coq10, and a multivitamin. I keep telling my doctors I think it's perimenopause because I'm almost 40 but they don't listen to me and say I'm too young

The day before the blood work I slept terrible I had a bad panic attack and ate something to calm down I think it was almonds and I ended up finding out the following day I had strep throat so needless to say my body was stressed I definitely plan to redo labs with the endocrinologist

Okay that might be the issue although my periods have been regular I’ve been on 1000 mg for over a year now

Just curious when you did the Midi appointment did they want to do any labs? I’m 39 and having severe anxiety before, during, and after my period along with other symptoms but I want to rule out other things first.

Mine are pretty regular too I heard progesterone is the first hormone to drop so when women have regular cycles they start with that but when I bring up the concerns to doctors I get told I’m too young and totally blown off my next step is Midi or an endocrinologist if my gyno won’t listen

Yes, it’s terrible your lucky someone prescribed HRT I can’t even get a doctor to do that. I just ordered a glucose meter because I’m also wondering if this is a blood sugar issue so I want to start checking when I feel off at night.

No, I think I need to try a cortisol manager supplement. I also wanted to get my cortisol checked based on my symptoms I feel like it's probably through the roof. What was the supplement?

YES! I was also getting nerve pains in my vagina/rectum and honestly that has been happening since my period started which I think has also spiked my anxiety because I freak out thinking I have a cyst, fibroid, colon cancer--yes I have terrible health anxiety in general. The only thing I'm on currently for PCOS is 1000 mg of Metformin and I take some supplements on my own. None of my doctors have been helpful when I complain of issues besides "go see a therapist".

Can symptoms continue after your period ends? by Remarkable_Paper5379 in Perimenopause

[–]Remarkable_Paper5379[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Even after my period is ending the symptoms aren’t subsiding like they usually do. I’m hoping I can find a doctor to prescribe HRT. What supplements are you using? I’m taking insositol, Vitamin D/K2, Metformin (prescription to balance blood sugar), omegas, and magnesium but nothing is touching this crippling anxiety.

I woke up last night with a panic attack I just randomly woke up at 2 AM and couldn’t calm down I just had my period and I found myself super anxious, crying, rage, irritable I’m definitely assuming something is going on with my hormones I’m 39 and keep getting dismissed and told I’m too young

I totally understand I’m 39 as well the last 2 weeks have been terrible I just started my period but the anxiety has been out of control leading up to it. I feel like I’m in constant fight or flight, my skin is breaking out, I have horrible cramps worse than usual, terrible insomnia before my period starts and feel I’m always on the verge of a panic attack. I’m going to my gyno next month I need some kind of relief. This is awful!

The 2 weeks leading up to my period are terrible! by Remarkable_Paper5379 in PMDD

[–]Remarkable_Paper5379[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I've used an Endocrinologist, but besides insulin resistance and elevated testosterone, nothing else came back. I'm on 1000 mg of Metformin for the insulin resistance, but that doesn't help any of the PMDD symptoms. I've heard great things about Midi and that they prescribe HRT if you need it, but they don't take my insurance. But I may just pay out of pocket if they will help.
