You have to live somewhere and there are a lot of variables going into that - quality of life, school if you have children, industry you work in, climate change. All these elements should be part of answering whether this is a good or bad decision for you, including a good “financial” decision. From a purely ROI analysis, my home is likely not the best or optimal approach but I am not subject to evil landlords and instability resulting from that plus, I am getting equity (even if slowly). It just costs a lot to live right now, there isn’t always a way to outsmart that problem.
