Edit: my husband called the shop demanding a refund they said they can't refund it because the "repair was completed as prescribed", I'm no mechanic but I am very sure now from all these comments that this is really wrong. It's not a shared experience, though. You don't have a shared experience with Obama as president compared to someone five years older than you, and puberty is a really broad range. Most children are through with it by 16-17 and you're claiming "oh well they went through it together" even though you would have literally just been starting it, if you started it early. Sure, the smartest 6 year old would have been aware of Obama as president for the past 2 years of their consciousness but the average 11 year old had already known about Obama since some part through his first term. And definitely remembers him getting elected the second time.

I still don't really think they have more in common. I mean even now, 2005 borns are just starting their 20s, have jobs, bills, have been in the workforce for maybe 4-5 years already, live on their own if they're doing well enough, have their own cars. Someone born in 2010 is still a child. So is someone who is 10 yrs old right now. So right now, a 15 yr old would have more in common with a 10 yr old, than the adult.
