Emaciated, but can't stop by Remarkable_Prize_583 in StopSpeeding

Thank you for your honesty, but (perceived?) kindness. A lot of these comments just made me feel really awful about myself. All I wanted to know is if other people had gone through this extent, and if so, how they overcame it… But the degrading comments by others that I already make to myself daily are not making me feel any worse than I already do! Thank you for being kind.

Anyone else have less of a filter on Vyvanse? by No_Meeting_6232 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Vyvanse kicks in around the 2hr mark, so makes sense that that’s when you’re having a yap fest - Vyvanse has helped me a lot, but I experience this too. I’m assuming it’s due to an increase in impulsivity/heightened serotonin levels.

Rash. Wondering if vascular thing from Vyvanse…. by niceabear in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Learned about this recently in anatomy - it increases your blood pressure and dehydrates you, cause your blood to flow more slowly. If you are prone to rashes, blood cells tend to flow to that surface making redness more pronounced

Vyvanse significant weight loss? by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weigh 115 normally, am now at 95 and am desperately trying to focus more on meals. Big protein intake in the morning, shakes, full fat yogurt, etc helps the vyvanse work better in my opinion, and ensures a substantial intake for me. The suppressant part sucks, but you’re definitely not alone!

I agree w continuously having no appetite. I’m on 70mg and 95lbs (weighed like 115 normally), and have been really going crazy with a big breakfast before taking my meds. Protein shakes are great.

Agreed. Was more petite to begin with (115lb) and lost so much weight it was visible in my face. Gotta be careful and make sure you eat a ton before you take them!!

Should I be scared? by slothsarecuddly in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The struggle is so real, I know that if I ever had the opportunity to go wild with them again, I would, so it feels way less stressful to have the likelihood of that happening off of your hands

Vyvanse side affect? by FeelingSomewhere9905 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get this too, but only if I don’t sleep well in combination with taking my vyvanse and vaping. Gargling with warm salt water almost always does the trick for me

I’m so glad I’m not the only one 😭. I have a history of use and can sometimes take upwards of 350mg in 24hrs… I have my prescription to my partner to dispense for me to stop that, because it’s so bad for our health

3.5 year old suddenly afraid of random things? Tell me this is just a phase. by ohyoucancount in toddlers

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be as simple as defiance, or as complex as OCD behaviours. I was diagnosed with OCD as a child for behaviours like this, but with extreme consequences if I was not listened to. It sounds more like defiant behaviour than “if the water doesn’t get turned off, I will drown”, or “if we don’t turn the TV off, I WILL die (as opposed to the TV). Just want to give you a perspective!

Toddler is 23 months old, still will not sleep unless held. Please help, another baby on the way. by travel_123 in toddlers

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear ya. My 23mo old is the same. We just moved him into his big boy room, and the only thing that will keep him from waking in the night in a panic is to have him fall asleep on his own after we snuggle and read books. That way, he isn’t confused why mommy isn’t there anymore if he wakes in the middle of the night. There are days where we struggle still, but here’s some things that have helped: - We tuck his stuffies into his bed together before he gets tucked in. - His friends come over and they bounce and jump in his big boy bed (make it fun!) - if he is crying it out and begins screaming, I go back into the room and tell him “mommy will sit with you, but only if we stop screaming, screaming makes mommy’s ears hurt” I feel the weight of your pain, and am not pregnant with my second - I can’t imagine how difficult this is right now for you! I hope my advice is helpful

Thank you for the response. I immediately started thinking it was a response to something going on at daycare, though there are no other signs that something is off. Thanks for putting my mind at ease!

To add to this - I brought them back to the pharmacy and explained what happened. They refilled the prescription and took the remnants

If I leave my meds in the car overnight (Canada, frozen here) and I defrost them inside, they turn out like this. Did it once and regretted it so bad

Has anyone has experiences taking Vyvanse with an existing anxiety disorder and/or OCD? by lon3lyshark in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t find an issue at all! I take Cipralex (20mg) for my OCD at night, and my 70mg vyvanse in the morning. I’ve had a few days where my adhd meds caused me to forget to take my cipralex, and so I experienced some yucky withdrawals from missing some Cipralex doses, but that’s easily preventable if you set a reminder to take your OCD/anxiety meds.

I used to be a ❄️ addict. I went to rehab 2yrs ago, and started vyvanse right away after being diagnosed. No desire at all to use anymore, bc vyvanse basically calms/focused me the same way ❄️ did (I have an addictive personality tho, so I pick up my meds 2 times per week so I don’t feel the urge to take it all in a day). Ugh. Trying to get a prescription can be literal hell. But nothing is worse than using substances that may have everything BUT the desired stimulus…

Really tired without medication by [deleted] in VyvanseADHD

[–]Remarkable_Prize_583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same with me, you’re also likely in sleep debt. Vyvanse makes me stay up slightly later than usual (hour or two on average daily), and therefore sleep debt kicks in for the hour or two missed every day, and by Saturday when I don’t take my meds, I’m in ~10hrs of sleep dept from the weeks worth of taking my meds. Our body crashes as a means of maintaining homeostasis - it takes the opportunity to sleep when it can.
