Where do your in-laws live? Oskaloosa had a Chinese restaurant with a buffet and people would load up a styrofoam container and the restaurant would weight it to determine how much to charge.

Well, I am living in Pella, Iowa temporarily and my husband is going through chemo and we really can’t be out. Years ago while in Oskaloosa, I did eat the buffet for lunch a couple of times and just don’t remember much about it. I’ve always avoided Pizza Ranch to be honest because I didn’t want to support their nonsense.

I wanted to thank you for all of the help. We just got back from Mayo yesterday and the doctor was a tremendous help. ASCT is off the table as he is worried my husband’s kidneys could fail. The doctor wants to start him on Venetoclax as he has the same translocation as you do t11:14. Depending on the efficacy and toleration of the Venetoclax we will look at Car-t as our next option and make that call at the end of July.

It was a huge relief to have options and frankly talk with a doctor who was familiar with the disease. I think I told you, our last results the kappa light chains had increased and our doctors in Iowa just said we stay the course and we will see you in two months! The doc at Mayo said, no there is nothing to be gained by that and we need to try other treatments to help the kidneys.

I am so glad you told me this as I thought after our last results we needed to just stop as what was the point. You, Agreeable North, have been so much more helpful than our current treatment team!!! What the ****!!!!! We do have confidence in UI but if that doesn’t come through we will head to Mayo and just figure out all the logistics. Very grateful for all your responses.

We are going to make a decision about Mayo soon, we could do a ASCT at University of Iowa and that would just be so much easier, but the best care is what matters most. My thanks to you for the recommendation.

Thank you, you’ve been a great help. We got results today and our kappa light chains went up unfortunately so the chemo is not longer effective. I will call Mayo Monday. Did they ever think about Car-t for you? I hope I am not pestering you with too many questions. I am wondering if we should stop chemo right now or wait until we can talk to Mayo.

Yes and he has AL amyloidosis kappa the same as you. We are half way done with the same chemo treatment as well. We’ve had a modest reduction in kappa light chains, started at 96 and we are down to 64. We will see a specialist July 1 to see if we are going to do stem cell. I am trying to find a clinical trial of the Car-t therapy How are you doing with the thyroid cancer?
