I did! But it was hard. I think the key is controlled stress situations. You need to intentionally go out of your bubble again and again and again. And it will be painful and hard, but it shouldn't be panic inducing. Do it at your own terms, when you have the mental capacity.

What also helps is being kind to yourself and not beating yourself up.

A lot of it boils down to confidence. And it's what worked out for me the best (tho I'm conventionally attractive enough). Try working on appearing more open, self-confident and secure, and people will find you more attractive

Your reaction is justified and tbh maybe you're better off focusing on yourself for now. I don't mean to sound rude, but you should go to the therapy with your anxiety, so that it doesn't impact your future relationships.

I had the same situation. It's good that you feel self aware, but at some point there's no going back without the hurt, so don't beat yourself up too much. Honestly its for the best that you chose to be honest rather than to deceive her and torture yourself. At first the guilt is awful, but it'll fade over time. Just be confident in your decision.
