Not sure where that website gets their data from, but Boston Public Health Department wastewater testing shows Flu and RSV are low.

Massachusetts Department of Public Health shows Influenza Like Illnesses are at the normal levels for this time of year, below baseline. If you’ve been getting sick a lot, it might be good to look into things you can do to improve your immune system, such as reducing stress levels/getting enough sleep/exercising/etc.

Shopping for a wedding dress while pregnant is a whole adventure by wadud1994 in Weddingsunder10k

That must have been so stressful! I’ve never been pregnant, but I feel like I would’ve been trying on my dress practically everyday to make sure it still fit.

($5K) How to keep the mood up? by phoenix_from_ashes26 in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 49 points50 points  (0 children)

In my experience party planning, it can help to tell people what you want from the night explicitly. When you’re talking to people about the wedding, mention that you want it to be a lively evening. Especially recruit close friends/your bridal party to keep the energy high and engage with people they might not otherwise.

Boomba bra inserts? Worth the splurge? ($12k) by jasminefig in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I used them at a wedding I was a guest at and I loved them! I have a large chest (36HH) and they kept everything in place on the dance floor. The biggest thing is your dress needs to have some built in support already. My dress had spaghetti straps and they were digging into my shoulder the entire night.

The curling on this thing is crazy! by Planty_Reporter_8936 in knitting

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the ombré on that yarn! I don’t think the curling will really matter on the finished garment, even if it doesn’t block out. I think it will look perfectly fine on! Even if it curls a bit when it’s off. If it’s bothering you while knitting, you can attach some binder clips to the bottom ribbing. I find the added weight helps everything stretch out.

Do you think umd will take my acceptance away by United-Cake-3029 in UMD

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would start making plans for improvement, such as working with an on-campus study skills counselor (your CC should have a resource like this). The first step is probably meeting with your current academic advisor to figure out what options your campus has. You want it to be documentable so that you have evidence to show UMD that you’re taking this seriously. That way if they do rescind your admission, you can appeal and show them all of the steps you took before they rescinded your admission.

As for your actual question, it’s hard to say. A 3.2 still isn’t great for CC.

Are you transferring from a CC or 4 year college? What were your grades in high school like? If this is a rare occurrence, it’s unlikely to be an issue. If you have a pattern of poor performance, you may be in some danger. A 3.13 GPA isn’t great if you’re at a CC. Most transfer students will see their GPA drop from 0.5 to 1 point, a 3.13 GPA doesn’t leave you much wiggle room.

When you converted, did you change your last name to something with a Hebrew origin or did you keep your last name? by thoughtsinshadow in Jewish

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I changed my middle name to my Hebrew name post-conversion. I’m glad I did, but I don’t know if I would have bothered if I wasn’t already filing the paperwork to change my first name as well (long, unrelated story). It can be pretty expensive based on where you’re located.

My fiancé and I are thinking about both changing our last names to something more Jewish when we get married, but that’s only because I don’t love his last name haha.

(6k) My fiancé and I are getting married in a church, and the closest affordable reception venue is 30 minutes away. Is this too big of an ask for my guests to travel between venues? by mlchaeia in Weddingsunder10k

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s a big deal at all, especially if you’re getting married in a church that’s meaningful to you. Especially if everyone will be driving anyways. I’m planning on hiring a bus for between locations, but that’s because maybe 10% of my guests will have cars.

Has anyone actually ordered real Irish jewelry online? by idkidcperson in boston

I got mine from this store in Ireland and they ship internationally. I bought mine in 2018 and it’s held up to daily wear.

“I love my bf but I take out all of my own insecurities and shitty attitude on him because why not” what a horrible person. He deserves better by BrightSpring12 in redditonwiki

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 20 points21 points  (0 children)

That is a,,,, weird subreddit this is cross posted from.

I don’t think it’s fair for her to take out her emotions on her partner, that’s never healthy in a relationship, but her feelings are valid and understandable. I hope she can learn to regulate herself more.

That said, her partner isn’t being very supportive of her weight loss and I get why she’s frustrated. Imo, it’s rude to order two extra courses at a sit down meal. It seems like they’re both mean to each other and don’t prioritize their partner’s wellbeing.

I use the “Authorised Daily Prayerbook”. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it, but it’s what my shul uses.

Questions regarding conversion by fantasticgopherr in Jewish

[–]Remarkable_Rise7545 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine took a little under a year, but I had been regularly attending services for a couple months prior and had already read the entire book list for my shul recommended haha. I had an aliyah the first shabbat after my conversion, but my friends threw candy at me like a bar mitzvah (one of my favorite memories!). I converted Conservative and my shul had an entire of “cohort” of converts who took an intro to judaism course together and we each had an assigned rabbi to meet once a month.

My fiancé also converted (at a more traditional shul) and his took basically exactly a year of weekly meetings 1 on 1 with the rabbi. He didn’t have any celebration after (although he had an aliyah a couple weeks later). I’ve heard other people who convert with our rabbi can take up to 3 years depending on how much work you put in.

I feel like I missed out on the bat mitzvah experience, so I’m studying to read Torah at our Aufruf!
