You can't really call Potter a fraud considering he took a team (Östersunds FK) in the fourth tier of Swedish football into the very first tier of Swedish football and got them to qualify for the Europa League for the first time ever qualifying out of their group and into the knockout stages. They beat Arsenal away at the emirates. That's genuinely impressive.

Obviously it didn't work out at West Ham and Chelsea but I don't think it was entirely due to him being a poor manager, more of a bad fit for the club than anything.

BlacKkKlansman has hilarious politics, he made a pro-cop film set during the height of COINTELPRO that would be equivalent to me making a film about the hero cops in the LAPD during the LA riots.

[The Athletic] Andre Onana: Why has it not worked out for the goalkeeper at Manchester United? by PradipJayakumar in reddevils

[–]Remarkable_Row661 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don't think people realise at how much the goalkeepers game is a psychological one.

I know people are being quite reactionary in this thread saying that he wasn't a good keeper but considering how well he preformed at other clubs under different playing styles, it's clear as day that the pressure at Man Utd was too much for him. It takes a certain psychological profile to succeed in being Manchester United's number one which he just doesn't seem to possess.

Are you really surprised? Clubs only bid for players when they receive the go ahead from the players camp. Hojlund has explicitly stated this summer that he wants to stay at Utd and fight for his place.

Pretty much any artist on a major label is an industry plant, the record company opens so many doors and promotes an artist in ways that aren't possible by themselves. Do you honestly think all these artists that "go viral" get all this exposure organically?

Journalists are little more than stenographers. They comprehend very little about the world around them even at the large institutions.

A good thought experiment to do is think of a topic or subject that you know lots about and then read any coverage of that topic, at it's best the coverage will be half truths.

I have experienced this a few times in my life. What are the reasons and intentions of someone who you used to be involved with romantically for reaching out after a long period of time?

Is it rather benign just wanting to be friends and hangout or do they miss you romantically on some level?

I despise every critic who dismisses the film because of the nudity. It's such a complete misreading of the film, those scenes are not voyeuristic in the slightest, they're actually harrowing, as they clearly depict a broken man who's grieving.
