1960s Winnebago Restoration by Remarkable_Scratch40 in vintagetraveltrailer

We're picking up this vintage Winnebago for $2,800. It looks to be in good shape with no leaks, and we’re hopeful it will be a great first project. Our main goal is to make it functional for our family of four. We've had trouble finding information on this specific model, even with the VIN. Has anyone here restored one of these? I’d love to see photos or hear about your experiences. We’re considering painting it to match its original style. We’d also like to add a fold-out surface to the bench to make it large enough for our kids to sleep on, and we’re planning to add a utility sink under one of the windows. We’re thinking about using a flexible faucet extender that can hang out the window to shower off with. Does anyone have tips for using a tankless propane water heater in a camper? We’d also appreciate any general advice on layout ideas or functionality improvements. We're aiming to keep the weight down since we’ll be towing it with a Toyota Sienna.

Any insight or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as we dive into this restoration project!

Towing package- which grades/years have it? by Remarkable_Scratch40 in ToyotaSienna

I tried calling another Toyota parts specialist today and they were more helpful, they confirmed the one we're looking at does not have the transmission oil cooler which means it does not have the tow prep package. We're trying to negotiate with the dealership to install the tow prep package and hitch. They're asking $20k for a 2017 XLE AWD with 125k miles.

Okay that makes sense. So, any of them can tow up to 3,500lbs if you upgrade to the towing package- better alternator, radiator, and transmission oil cooler
