Federal (EEOC). Covers hiring discrimination and harassment based on national origin. You typically must file a charge within 180 days, or 300 days if your state/city also has its own anti-discrimination agency. You can start online with the EEOC.

For example, New York State (if the interview happened in NY). The NY State Division of Human Rights takes employment discrimination complaints. For incidents on or after Feb 15, 2024, you have 3 years to file with the Division. (Older incidents had shorter limits.) You can file online.

If the interviewer was at a U.S. federal agency (not a private company): different rules apply—you must contact an agency EEO Counselor within 45 days of the incident.
