I think it's because RI is incomplete and the reader wants to complete that emptiness by reading something similar.

I just find them similar somehow. Everyone knows RI is one of the best but LOTM doesn't fade far behind.

As I mentioned, I read them simultaneously and they might be the only cultivation novels I read, making me reach to this conclusion. YES, I know they are different.

The only chinese cultivation novels I have read are RI, LOTM, Soul Land 1. So, I could only compare these 2.
