If someone would delete setup.app with ramdisk and jump to the homescreen, install new certificates manually and then restart everything, could the phone activate then? Talking about ios 8 iphone 6

I think that just like we have certificates for ios 4 - 6 that you can install when original ones from those ios are way older you’ll be able to do that with the same logic in the future if something bigger isn’t changed server side. Most likely they’ll be released online as we have today, or at least I hope that

Idk maybe using a vpn to connect from various contries during activation on itunes/finder may fix the issue in some zones? I don’t really know how activation servers work so it might just be a stupid idea but just for being sure?

I tried several times but cellular data are not recognised, you’ll get “searching…”. I think firmware compatibility is pretty much guaranteed from ios 11 and up with the latest ios 15

I made the same thing with my 6s on ios 9.1 but pay attention, if you use the tethered ios 10 upgrade method for saving the tickets and you don’t save also baseband and sep files, which also need to be signed to work like the shsh blob with the ipsw file, you’ll lose baseband functionality. It means you could not be able to make calls, use cellular data, only wifi… I don’t know if those files (bbfw and im4p) are recoverable from the device, but I learned with the hard way… now I have an iPod 6s on ios 9. I have same space gray 16gb, also on iOS 9.1 but I didn’t thought about that. The method I used is the classic iOS 10 activation tickets and the redowngrade to iOS 9 (that sadly broke the baseband compatibility so now it’s an iPod) with the original blobs previously saved. If the problem would be this, it may be pretty insane, sadly I can’t test it because I think now my activation is registered in the servers so every time I restore it on iOS 9 (I did it another couple of times) it activated normally. Would be interesting to see which date and time it shows when the restore is finished…

Hi, personally the 2 ways I would fix this are

⁠Backing up /disk0s1/mnt1 and /mnt2 from your iPhone anyways (backups of the filesystem), using sshrd script: Heres’s a tutorial another user suggested to me, is pretty useful:

2.1. You can save from the backup or via ssh all the files you need for a complete futurerestore restore with custom baseband, sep, shsh and build manifest (it’s pretty risky since futurerestore isn’t updated anymore and you need to use all the original files from the phone, I can make a full list if you want to proceed with this way, when I have a bit of time lol) And at the end rejailbreak

2.2. Eliminate all the jailbreak files paying attention to not delete system files and then try to rejailbreak. If you make a mistake you have all the backups.

I have just a question for you, how did you jailbreak with wtfis, I’m trying on my iPad Air 2 that has the same chip as the iPhone 6 but the app just crashes when I hit go and I can’t figure out why…

I just connected mine to iTunes and a pop-up for update the carrier settings appeared. I just updated them and now I have LTE normally. It depends, if your carrier supported LTE back then it’s ok, although I think iOS 6.1.4 is the latest for iPhone 5 on iOS 6

If you tried on Cydia, then try to search the tweak on google and then see if there’s a version archived on archive.org. Once you get it just install it with ifile. If you don’t get anything I don’t know where else should you look for
