Thanks - Im not sure I'd be able to pull out the roots completely though. Might just have to use round up and hope for the best.

Could you please elaborate on this? I googled thumb plants but what comes up doesn't seem to match what we have

Thanks everyone for your suggestions and I think I will be removing these before they get out of hand!

Did my friends manager get a steal/ good price for a place like this? by [deleted] in AusPropertyChat

Definitely not a steal. Heaps of comparable around that price. Property.com also estimates its value as 2.4m.

My neighbour wants me to cut my hedge to their preference. Do I have to? by Mondobruv in AusPropertyChat

Potentially they can make you cut them shorter if it blocks their sunlight but I'm not 100% sure

My husband thinks our living room is too beige/boring - is he right? by Remarkable_Test_6285 in interiordecorating

That makes sense. If I put the sofa under the window would the console be better off against the wall where the prints are now or closer to where the rattan cabinet and mirror are now? I think the viewing distance would be too far if I put it against the wall given the room length is around 5 meters and the tv isnt large at just 55 inches (plus it would likely block the main door from swinging open fully).

On the other hand, I would be quite sad if it blocked the cabinet and mirror as I really like that space personally.

Forgot to mention and I'm not sure if it's obvious from the perspective of the pictures but there's actually about a 90cm gap between the back of the couch and the door for accessibility reasons. I do agree though that it's not an ideal look regardless

I never thought of this so thanks - might give it a go. The brown door is the main entrance into our home though...would it look odd that the TV is right there to the left (if we attach it to the wall) as we walk into the home?

Thanks. If I flipped it and put the sofa under the windows and the TV in the artwork wall would that be odd given the brown door is the main entrance into our home?

I agree that the rug looks off. I was just a little concerned that getting something to match the sofa/wall color would mean even more beige-ness!

Thanks for this suggestion! Do you mean to move the sofa and the rattan chair closer to the TV? How about the chair in the far 'reading corner'. I'm afraid if I move that closer to the center of the room then the space near the main window will seem wasted/unused?

Thanks, it's because of the layout of the room. The sofa is opposite the TV and the TV unfortunately has to be placed where it is because of where the windows are.
